Tasty food, but bad on the stomach.
by mojojesso
I absolutely love Japanese food! When I first found out about Fuji, I went several times with friends and family. However, the past 5 or 6 times I have gone, my stomach got VERY upset and I've had to go straight home afterwards. I always give it another try because I do like how the food tastes... the staff is very nice and they have a good sushi menu, but I'm thinking they load you up on MSG or something. My husband has gotten sick several times as well, and so have our best friends. We've finally given up on this place. If you want GOOD Japanese food and a happy tummy, go to Kabuto on Conference Drive instead.
- Pros: Good price, never busy, good sushi menu
- Cons: Upset stomach!!!!!!!
WOW!!! This place is great!!

I was looking for a new place and you could miss this one....It is next to Crencor....WOW is what I have to say. This place is just awsome.....The filet just melts in your mouth like butter!! They make their sauces from scratch. The ginger dressing is wonderful. I loved the hot sauce it had a sweet heat taste great in your fried rice. They take great care of you from the moment you walk in the door. You never run out of drinks. The chefs really put on a great show. Lunch is the best time to go they have excellent quality meat. They do not over charge for any of the dinners. You get so much for your money here. This is my new favorite place to eat. They even offer the lunch prices on saturday.....They are way better than any other Japenese Steakhouse out there. I have tried every on in or around Nashville and they are simply the best!!!
- Pros: Prices are great, They seat you quickly, great quality of food
Excellent hibachi style Japanese

Went with two friends and with my husband, who is very picky when it comes to food in general and ethnic food in particular - and had a great time. We were promptly seated and promptly served for both beverages and food. We got the edamame appetizer which was great, and two orders of the Tennessee special (steak, chicken, shirmp) with the salad, soup, veggies and fried rice that accompany most entrees. It was a tremendous amount of food at a very reasonable price.. The ginger dressing for the salad was wonderful, the soup was tasty, and the hibachi chef did a fantastic job, with both cooking and performance/interaction. My husband loved the spicy (plum?) sauce, and everyone agreed that the meat and veggies were delicious, flavorful, and well prepared. We did not try the sushi, though our tablemates did and seemed to enjoy it. It has been a few years since I've been to a Japanese steakhouse, and the experience at Fuji was better than I remembered. We will return soon and recommend it to any.
- Pros: Ambiance, service, great food for a good price
