In Short – Featuring a wide range of local and national musicians, this well-stocked blues bar boasts live music daily and a Cajun-influenced menu complete with New Orleans-style barbecue shrimp with the house's take on hoodoo dipping sauce. A fully-stocked 360-degree upper bar overlooks the sizable lower level's full stage and dance floor. A cool neon blue vibe permeates the main lounge, with the large outdoor patio occasionally stealing the show during warmer weather.
NEVER go here
by danijoymc
My friend went here one night and opened a tab. At the end of the night her tab was $25 and they ran her card. WEEKS later this "club" charged her account $300, which resulted in over draft fees on her account as well. When she tried to meet with the manager, he didn't show and didn't answer her phone calls. When she did finally reach him and question why he didn't show, he told her he forgot he had a meeting. By the end of the conversation, he was cussing at her, telling her he was going to "throw that money in her face." She is now seeking help from the cops to resolve this issue. I personally have never set foot in this place but now I definitely will never go. Any business professional would not treat his customers this way. So if you want to get ripped off, by all means, go to The Place.
- Pros: none
- Cons: everything
I went BEFORE the murder, but...
by LadyVol08
Me and a couple friends went here back in September or October of 2008, and we had a good time. It was a nice amount of people there, and the DJ played some great music, new and old. While trying to find a parking spot, the attendant in the lot that's right across from it, was charging $10, so we just parked at a lot across from that one, where we either paid $5 or nothing. We were told that it was free til 11, but it turned out to be until 10:30, and we did have to wait in line for a little while... When we were leaving, there was traffic (the point of the night I like to call "Parking Lot Pimpin"), and like northfaceboy22 said, there are 30" rimmed cars causing the traffic, but I saw no guns. Either way, it's unnecessary traffic. Other than that, I didn't have any problems. However, I don't think I'd go back there. I'm surprised it's still even open!! Clubs here seem to have a limited shelf life.
- Pros: Example: best croissants in town
- Cons: The hellacious traffic afterwards!!
BEWARE!! I can see the place out of my living room Window and there was a murder there one night!!!!

I have lived in south Nasvhille my entire life and I now live downtown where I can look down on "the place" from my window. Me and other residents that live there all agree that club is dangerous. On Fri and Sat nights when the thugs get out of the club they circle the place in there 30" rimed sub-woofered cars blairing rap music and taking over the surrounding streets by weaving in front of oncoming traffic holding guns out of there car windows. BEWARE THIS PLACE IS VERY DANGEROUS!!! One night a friend and I went into this club to see how it was inside. We were the only 2 white people in there and were staired down until security came over and asked us to leave.... Another night about 2 months ago a man was shot and MURDERED at this club, and to my surprise the news did not broadcast this on air, it was completely swept under the media. The only reason I knew a man was murdered was b/c of all the cops standing around there outside when it happened and they told me what had happened. The next day I saw photographers out there taking pictures of the murder location.... I did my own research on the place and the owner is Jimmy Churchstreet who is in someway connected to the TN State Legislature, hmmmmm maybe this is why that murder was swept under the local media.... Now the place has been repainted from yellow to Green i dont know if this means that it is trying to clean up its image or what... I REPEAT THIS PLACE IS VERY DANGEROUS AND UNSAFE FOR PEOPLE TO GO TO!!!!!
- Pros: Nusance
- Cons: Dangerous
