No more Draft Beer and a Split plate charge in a Dive?. Its and Ok bar and I have been several times over the past couple years. The waitress told me they had no draft beer anymore, other than microbrew. Ordered the usual bland chicken quesidilla, got what was expected. The queso dip had no spice in it to accompany the stale chips. SInce I was not that hungry I split my dish with my date and when I got the bill there was a 2 dollar split plate fee. I guess to cover the extra paper plate and stale chips they threw on the "paper plate" . Now what kind of dive bar has a split plate fee for bad bar food???? Over and out on this place.
Franklin's Worst NIght Spot. how else can I say it- this place should be closed down.. food is seriously awful. the staff is young, dumb and could care less about there clientle. if you want to throw away your money and leave disgusted you should visit this place.. there are lots of other choices in cool springs- try jonathan's and you will leave much more happy.. beware to all prospective tin roof customers- it is truely terrible....
Too expensive, not worth it !. Completely agree with the other review, customers are not important there. Tin roof is the most expensive bar in cool springs and it has the worst service as well. Spend your money at Jonathans you will get twice the drinks and no to mention excellent service!
fantastic time. I am a frequent customer at the Tin Roof 2, and by the way I'm also under 30! I am always greeted when I come in, and haven't ever waited more than a couple min for any type of service (food/drink). It's really easy going atmosphere(come as you are), and I don't think I can recall any band/singer that wasn't equipped musically to be playing. The cover is ALWAYS $4, and has been since it opened. I have met the owners and I don't know of another place where the owners are there as much as they are at Tin Roof2. They really do care about everyone that walks in the door, and want to make sure EVERYONE has a great experience. There have been numerous times when I have watched the bouncers call taxi's because someone is too impaired to drive. Im sorry if it upsets you to think you might get a DUI for drinking and driving, but if that's the case, then you are ignorant, don't do it!! I think it's sad that there are such negative reviews because I have had so many AWESOME nights here with friends. Im a transplant, like most of us are, and when my girlfriends come in to visit from Alabama they are always wanting to go to the Tin Roof2, it's the first and last place we go! Never dissappointed, and going to keep coming back!!
Could be so much better!. I have to agree 100% with JMLC. At night, especially on a weekend, the service is absolutely horrible. The entire staff has an attitude as if the patrons are an inconvenience. The drinks are incredibly expensive and come in very small plastic or paper cups. If it wasn't for the bands, I probably wouldn't have given it a 3rd or 4th shot. I can't try it again, it is not worth the effort. And it is true - the police do watch that place like a hawk. If you are crazy enough to drink and drive, don't go here. Not sure if it is just a rumor, but I've heard Carothers is the #1 street in TN to get a DUI. But - if you want to a place to eat lunch, this might be a good option. Their sandwiches and quesadillas are very good.
I'll never step foot in TR2 again and neither should you!. TinRoof 2 must be accutely aware that they are one of the only bars in town. I have never seen such a blatant disregard for customers anywhere, ever. The staff, especially the bartenders, pay no mind to paying customers. They could not care less how long you wait for a drink regardless of how busy they are. I have frequented this bar many times due to lack of options in Franklin and have been effectively ignored every single time. I have seen the owners stand and socialize with friends, totally oblivious to customers sitting down and waiting a good 20 minutes before a waitress greets them. The bartenders are worse... Standing, shooting the breeze with friends while servers wait for them to make drinks and people sit at the bar with empty bottles and glasses. The staff is in desperate need for a course in customer service. And for all this horrible service, you the customer get to pay the HIGHEST DRINK PRICES IN TOWN. Almost double what Jonathan's charges. One would think, in this economy, when people are really scutinizing how they spend discretionary funds that TInroof2 would be begging customers to return by making sure they provide, at the very least, a mediocre experience. But sadly, the employees at Tinroof will treat you like you are in a NY bar waiting 10 deep for a drink. If you want to go out, please think about your destination. Do not give yor hard earned money to an establishment that does not value you as a paying customer. Life is short...go somewhere where people appreciate their customers. No one should ever have to wait more than 5-10 minutes for a drink in this thriving metropolis we call Franklin. Oh and one more thing...The Franklin PD monitors the ingress and egress of Tinroof 2 heavily. In fact, the path in front of the bar has come to be known as DUI Row by locals with the Franklin PD handing out more DUI's in this location than anywhere else in town. Cheers!
Don't waste your time or $$. Met a few friends at Tin Roof 2 big mistake. We were the only people over the age of 22 and not extremely wasted. Cover charge a rip off, the band was awful and the drinks were like $10 or higher. Two of the females we were with got very sick when we left couldn't decide if food p_____ing or someone slipped something in the drink. Beware if you value your health don't go here!! The bartenders over serve you and the risk of a DUI in Brentwood/Franklin is not worth it!!
I Live in NY and have a close relative living in Tennessee who just recently visited this establishment. 3 Young woman who only ordered shots of Tequilla all left the bar VIOLENTLY ILL. One of the OWNERS/MANAGER saw one of these girls fall in front of her car and proceeded to allow her to get into the car and drive while taking care of another girl getting sick in the parking lot. One of them waking up in their own sickness (she could have choked on). They home tested for illegal substances and tested positive...at this point they are awaiting results from the doctor to exactly what it was they consumed. There is no doubt they were drugged by the bartender.
People are sick...it happened here and it can happen anywhere. The girls wish not to press charges but like I said, it happened to them, it could happen to anyone. THEY COULD HAVE DIED! WHY???????? The bartender thought he might get a chance to take one of them home or got his rocks off watching them so sick.
Go to the Tin Roof in Nashville.
I have no idea why anyone goes out in Cool Springs, but everything about going out in this area is sad. You are greeted by a cover charge that is always different, ranging from $4-10. You usually listen to a band with drowned out vocals, but I guess this doesn't matter if you are drunk. The crowd at this place is terrible. Since everyone knows you should not go out in Cool Springs, the only people that visit this place are people that are clearly too old to be going out. To me, its sad to see a crowd of people over 35. Its also sad to see women in their 50's dancing. Of course, you cannot knock a place for the people who go there, but in a bar, that?s half the fun. So, if you are old, and are seeking an older crowd, you've found the place. If you are younger, and want a more lively crowd, and a better band, go to the Tin Roof in Nashville. It is probably my favorite hangout spot around. They usually have a great band, playing good music. The only thing that bothers me about both Tin Roof locations is their foolish attempts to get rid of the crowd by turning on the lights at an early hour. As the other reviewer has said, the Cool Springs location turns on its lights by the time I get my first drink. The Nashville location has been known to turn its lights on full blast an hour from last call. Also, live music, especially at the cool springs location, stops long before last call.
Bottom line: Do not visit the cool springs location unless you are old. And no matter what, go early.
R-E-S-P-E-C-T (Find out what it means to your customer base).
First, I must let it be know that this bar has awesome queso, which is important to me.
However, I'm a little frustrated with this bar. It seems as though they've taken their customer base for granted. There really isn't much to do in Franklin on any given night, and Tin Roof 2 knows it.
Although the sign painted on the (adorably decorated) front window says that they are open until "really late" I have witnessed 1:00 am closings in which a dozen people were rudely pushed out of the bar by brightened lights and sweeping and bar stools placed on tables. Last night I was charged different amounts of $$ for the same drinks depending on which part of the bar I was standing at. My final complaint is about the cover charge. I seriously paid $4 to get into a bar where one lone man sat on stage and played his acoustic guitar. I could do this at home, except that we play the right chords at our house.
I know that the bar has a captive audience, as it sits alone in the midst of Franklin strip malls, but I would like a little more respect. I feel taken advantage of and powerless, which is not my goal when I head out to a bar any given night.
