A Great Experience Awaits. My husband and I have been to Genie's once a few weeks ago, and will be going back next week. This restaurant has what I consider a wonderful characteristic: It's like being invited into a friends's home to eat their mother's fabulous food. It is a treat, a treasure, and an honor.

Each and every dish was beyond description. Granted, Middle Eastern cuisine is my favorite so I am partial to it. However, having eaten in many such restaurants around the country, this is one of the best and nicest. Nashville/Cool Springs is lucky to have this place.

Genie, her husband, and their daughter are gracious, charming, and knowledgeable and take the time to explain dishes you may not know. It was our pleasure to be there and I'm looking forward to going back on my birthday next week. This is a must-try. You willl be ever so pleased.

Family owned and operated by the. At last a place for auethentic Persian food near the Cool Springs area. The Fat Mo family ran restaurant serves up some traditional Persian dishes that do not disappoint. If you have never tried Persian food you're missing out, and if you want to then this is the place to go. Genie herself will help explain what is in each dish if you make it for the buffet between 11:00-3:00. The buffet has a large variety to chose from such as, lamb shanks, eggplant, chicken kebab(awesome), okra, gyro, safron rice, veggies, soups, stews and homemade yogurt sauces. One must try item is the sweet and sour pomegranate paste. Put it over some rice and you wont be able to stop eating it. The price is kinda up there at $9.00 a person but the variety makes it well worth it. The regular menu looks a little pricey but my guess is each entree could feed a family of four. For a lower fare you could get a wrap with either beef kabab, chicken, or persian style chicken salad for around $6.00. Awesome chi (persian tea). The only downfall may be the small seating capacity and the "gotta look for it" location. Other than that Genies is a great choice when looking for that new food experience. Can't wait to try everything else.

Run by jumbo burger king Fat Mo Karimy's wife, Genie's offers authentic Persian classics in an inviting family atmosphere.. In Short
Traditional Arabian music plays overhead as bejeweled genie lamps atop the popular lunch buffet lend an air of the exotic to the small dining area. Authentic eaters enjoy the dolmeh (grape leaves stuff with ground beef) and khoresht (traditional beef stew), while more common gyros and kebabs lend familiarity for the novice. The business lunch crowd takes advantage of the hearty buffet that includes al-you-can-eat soup, salad and entrees for around $10.
