In Short
Traditional Arabian music plays overhead as bejeweled genie lamps atop the popular lunch buffet lend an air of the exotic to the small dining area. Authentic eaters enjoy the dolmeh (grape leaves stuff with ground beef) and khoresht (traditional beef stew), while more common gyros and kebabs lend familiarity for the novice. The business lunch crowd takes advantage of the hearty buffet that includes al-you-can-eat soup, salad and entrees for around $10.

Imagine you're grandmother was from Iran and served all her best family recipies. That's Genie's. Great entrees, homemade hummus, feta cheese and butter. Excellent desserts.

Where do I start. As stated in other reviews as soon as we walked in the door we were asked if it was our first time and given a tour of everything. They have made a few changes for the better in some of the things. They now make their own feta, yogurt, hummus and churn their own butter. I'm southern and well butter is something I grew up with so I know my butter. They have some of the best butter I've ever eaten. The feta is the best I've ever had. I have to agree with everyone else in saying you have to try the fesenjan, a fantastic dish of ground chicken, ground walnuts and pomegranate. We went for the dinner buffet and the value is unbelievable. Where else can you get all you can eat braised lamb shanks. There wasn't a dish I didn't like that I tried. I did skip the salmon dish because I don't like salmon but my wife said it was great. All three of the desserts were fantastic. Genies is definitely going to be one of our regular stops when we to to Nashville. We live about three hours away and I'd seriously consider making that drive just to go to Genies it's so good.
