Editorial Review for Ombi Restaurant – by Jennifer Justus

In Short
A beaded steel curtain hangs between the bar area and a thin strip of candlelit tables and banquette seats at this sleek space. While the long, polished-concrete bar serves libations and bites to a hip late-night crowd, patrons in the dining room feast under a canopy of wood panels with shiny red floors under foot. Menu options such as onion soup, hanger steak and a foie gras-stuffed burger give the menu French flair.

A very average restaurant. Food was average and overpriced. The side dishes are a little strange. What I thought looked like potatoes was some kind of uncooked pieces of onion that did not taste good. The patio atmosphere was nice, though a little crowded. The inside atmosphere was bland and boring. They need pictures on the wall and more elegant decorations to achieve the atmosphere I believe they are going for. The staff was excellent.

I loved the decor and the servers were all very friendly and informative. I am just going to have to give the food a mediocre rating. There was nothing about the experience that is going to send me running back for a second meal. I might, however, visit the bar because I hear that is it pretty good. We were there on a Saturday night in February and the bar was dead, but I will give it another whirl at a later date.
