In Short – At this open industrial space between SoBro and The Gulch, diners can sample both wine and select menu items in flights. Underneath the exposed duct work, walls of brick and painted cinder block in gold and rust keep the ambience warm along with flickering candles on the tables. While barflies might choose a flight of three small salads, soups or desserts, worldly entrees of fish, steak or lamb are also available throughout the restaurant.
Food was inedible

We were looking forward to trying Flyte based upon all of the great reviews here. It was incredibly disappointing. Although the atmosphere was lovely, and the service was decent- the food was absolutely awful. We tried their buffalo chicken spring rolls (which the waiter informed us was their signature dish)- and they were inedible- way way way too salty and greasy. Also, the tapas offerings were sub par. In their defense, they did remove the items that we couldn't eat from our bill, but we won't be going back.
- Pros: very nice environment and good service
- Cons: horrible food
Marvelous Experience

Our dinner at Flyte was a particularly remarkable experience. It was our first time there, and we were impressed by the space. We started with a couple of flights of wine and selections from the antipasti menus. In a word - awesome. The wine list is broad and imaginative, and the chorizo, hummus, capicola and lavash were delicious. We both ordered a halibut entre and found it delightful. As marvelous as the food and was, the service actually outshone the fare. The staff are exceptionally friendly, professional and knowledgeable, but they really went above and beyond the call of duty in handling a wine order mix-up that was mostly my fault in a very gracious and professional manner.
This was a splendid example of the type of superb service that will ensure that customers return to Flyte. It was a delightfulful evening, and we recommend Flyte to anyone who appreciates world-class food, wine and splendid service.
- Pros: Awesome food & wine, even better service
- Cons: None
The best food in town! Highly Recommended!

My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and decided to try Flyte for dinner. We had passed it a few times while driving through the city and always thought it was a quaint and trendy looking spot.
Our dining experience was amazing from the moment that we stepped in the door. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. The candles, art and decor was a perfect cross between a fine dining restaurant and a trendy art studio with the open ceilings and brickwork.
Our server was very knowledgeable and able to recommend fantastic wines, champagne and dishes.
The dishes were some of the most inventive I've ever seen, and by far the best food I have had in Nashville!
Each dish was bursting with color and flavor! I had the Halibut and my husband had the duck- both prepared perfectly and tasted sensational.
The owner and staff were so accommodating and genuinely cared about their guests. The owner visited our table making sure our experience met expectations and chatted with us a bit about the history of the restaurant.
All in all we were blown away with this little restaurant. Everything met our expectations. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a great dining experience or even happy hour at the bar!
- Pros: atmosphere, amazing food, fabulous staff
- Cons: not walking distance if you live downtown
