shhh, been going for years!. I love Connie, she's the best. She really listens, or at least does a fabulous job pretending to! She is experienced and an artist, does really good work. I've been to her about 6 times over the past few years and I highly recommend her.

Changes for the Better Have Been Made. I have some mixed things to say. I have gone in a total of twice, once for a facial which turned out well, and once for Botox, which turned out not-so-well. I will admit that everyone is very, very nice. You will not be mistreated. When I went in for Botox (about 18 months ago) it was because the person I normally see at another practice was not available. Terry, the woman who owns (owned? She has now left indefinitely I think) was the one who did the procedure. Right away, even as she was prepping me, I got a sense that she was not being as careful as my usual provider. For instance, my go-to botoxer always puts each tiny little dose for each site in a separate syringe so the dose is exact. Terry just filled up a big syringe and started injecting everything with the same needle. When the treatment took effect, I was pretty upset. One side of my forehead and one eyebrow was noticeably more raised and had less motion. I freaked out and was luckily able to get an appointment with my regular person and she was able to fix it. So basically, I would never go back and see Terry. Ever.

Here's the good news:

Terry has hit the high road and sold the practice (I think) and the new owner has, in a stroke of immense genius, managed to poach my regular provider from her former practice. Her name is Donna, she has been doing Botox for about 10 years I think, and she is the only person who I will ever let get near my face with a needle. She is incredibly talented at what she does and I would recommend her to anyone.

THIS is what Dermess did TO me.... I went in for IPL in Sept. 2009. The place I usually go was updating their laser, so I could not go there. I found Dermess online and made an appt. I had some brown spots on my chest from sun damage. I was told IPL could fade the spots. The person operating the laser, Connie, is an RN, not just an aesthetician, a 4 yr degree nurse. I trusted that she knew what she was doing. The treatment left me with the purple blister burns you see in my profile pic. Click on the small pic to see the entire mess they made of my chest. When these burns FINALLY healed, I had permanent white scars (hypopigmentation) all over my chest in the shape of the tip of the laser. Other derms told me this was due to the setting being way too high on the laser. Dermess told me it was my fault for having sun damage. Now I have these scars all over my chest and have to cover them all the time. I no longer go out, I wear turtlenecks almost year round, and Dermess does even care. They kept saying "come by and let us look" and "we have a new doctor, we want him to look" That never happened. Every time I went to Dermess they put me off. So go ahead and keep supporting them, to you "loyal" customers. I'm sure one day the same thing could (probably will) happen to you. Then tell me how loyal you are to a facility that would disfigure you and then tell you it was your own fault!

Love this Place and all the Employees. I am totally stunned by some of these bad reviews. I have been going here for years. I trust them completely and know they are doing the best for me. They never try to upsell me or do more than I need. They send emails about specials and always try to get the best deal for me. They are professional in every way, but also friendly and treat me like family (even the ones I don't work with). It is a joy to go there.

I certainly don't understand the comment about "being in a basement". They are on the lst floor of a bldg with windows as they were at their other location years ago.

Great Place. There is something to be said for a place that's been in business for 15 + years, when others have come and gone! I guess you can't please every boby, but Dermess sure tries to. Its hard to believe such negative comments, I've been going to Dermess for 10+ years and trust all the staff with every skincare need and concern. I recommend you try Dermess for yourself you won't be sorry.
