Tips for Hallmark Vw At Cool Springs

October 27, 2012

I love Hallmark VW! I’ve been getting my 2005 Jetta serviced here for 2 years since I moved from CA and have had excellent experiences every time. That’s more than I can say for all the other dealerships I’ve used in the past. My husband also gets his 2002 Passat serviced there and has also had the same type of experience every time. I just purchased my brand new Jetta TDI a little over a week ago and experienced the best car buying process ever. I owe a great big thank you to Charlie (my sales associate), EJ, Cody, and especially Aaron (my sales manager). They did not have the 2012 Jetta TDI on the lot with ALL of my required specifications, but managed to track down my dream car including all my special requests all the way across TN. They were more than willing to pick up the car and finalize the process. I was amazed at the value of my trade in especially being a 7-year-old car and got a phenomenal price on my new one. There was a slight error when I was quoted for financing and they adjusted their mistake and made sure their original quote was honored. That is absolutely commendable! I love my new car and have no regrets. My husband and I will be coming back in the near future to trade in his car for a new GTI. Hands down the best car dealership!

Horrible Service Department. I took my 2005 VW Beetle to the Hallmark VW Cool Springs, Franklin, TN Service Department in March for possible electrical problems (blowing sensors, pumps, anything electrical for the life of the car) and an occasional slip in the transmission. Expected it to be there a week. After 17 weeks, my insurance said the expenses were approaching the value of the vehicle - originally around $3000 but each week brought new problems and a new price up to almost $10,000, including parts to be ordered from Germany (where they had to retool the line to make these parts?), they had ordered the wrong part so another one had to be ordered (wiring and body harnesses) - 4 weeks each; they told me they had cleared all this with my insurance company and eventually my insurance company said they didn't know about the last round with Germany until after it was ordered and received. They tore all the parts out of the inside of the car - seats, dash, carpet - all you could see was metal and the engine inside the windows. All the parts were dumped on the shop floor in a heap. When insurance finally said they were going to total it, Hallmark required a payment of $5000 for the 'work they did.' They quit answering my calls, we had to go to the dealer to find out what was happening. So for 17 weeks I had no car. Everytime I would get them on the phone (by saying I was making a new appointment so they didn't ask for my name at the receptionist desk) they would say another week or another two weeks. My insurance adjuster said there was absolutely no way they would have ever gotten that car back together and working again. This was an impeccably maintained car, never wrecked, looked brand new, 38000 miles in 6 years. When I went to collect my things from the trunk, the Service Manager told me he hoped to use the parts on my vehicle (fenders, seats, parts) on other customers' cars. You can't even count on a part they sell you not having come from someone else's broken car! I have never seen anything like it or been so disappointed in a business in my 58 years.

Never, never again!. I will never again darken the doorstep of this establishment. I took my vehicle in for $1500 worth of repairs (air conditioning, new tires/rotation). I waited a week, hadn't heard anything, called to check to see how much longer my car would be in the shop, was told "Oh, it's ready". Really? When did someone plan to notify me?

They made mistakes when working with me on a collision claim with my insurance company.

Also, when I go to the freaking Jiffy Lube to get my oil changed, THEY vacuum out my car. Hallmark Volkswagen has it for a week, I spend $1500 with them, and do you think they offered to clean out the inside? Ha!!

I'm not asking for free service, or anything to be given to me, just a little customer appreciation would be nice.

I'm done with this place!!

Bad business. I bought a Beetle from them over a year ago. It was the WORST dealership I have ever been to. The car had allot of problems. But the worst part of the whole deal was the Service Department. I sold the car. Thank goodness. Go somewhere else.
