Love It!!.
This is one of our favorite places! Some people on here complain about their sauce not being the best but REAL BBQ doesn't need a ton of sauce...even though theirs is good. Best brisket in town and the chicken is incredible!
Atmosphere is great as well, especially in warm weather when they open up the bay doors. Throw in the live music and sports with the country western feel and you have an incredible experience!
Dicky Roos. Food's ok, staff are all good folks, atmosphere's ok, wouldn't drive to get there, if they were next door ... might consider walking over once or twice a year. Management's the problem. Same with Mickey's brother's place, Rooster's. You'll probably be alright if you eat and leave. Would never get into any type of business relationship with either of them. Musicians, ya feel me?
HORRID SERVICE!.
WORST SERVICE EVER! I am a local and live near Mickey Roo's. Over the years i have been there many times and the food is pretty good. Pricey for what it is - but good. Tonight however I had, BY FAR, the worst service I have ever experienced. It began by me having to flag our waitress over after we had waited to order for over fifteen minutes. When she finally came over to us (after already taking the order of the table seated AFTER us) she began by stating "Ya'll are just going to HAVE to wait because I am serving almost every table in here" and then she walks away. In hindsight, we should have left right then but no - I really wanted brisket so we stayed. BIG MISTAKE!
After waiting another twenty minutes - we still have no food and no refills on our drinks. We watch her ask the table next to us if they need anything (the ones seated AFTER us who are now almost through with their food) but she just walks by our table. i decide to go to the bar to get another drink for hubby and some water for myself. The bartender sees that I am not happy but does not mention it to anyone.
Waitress walks by and hubby asks her is she will check on our food and she responds "I just did and it's not ready" in an extremely surly tone. It has now been 50 MINUTES since we walked in the door (on a Wednesday - no wait) and we still have no food and a server with an attitude so I ask to see the manager. Ten MORE minutes go by and still no manager and no food. Enough is enough - we get up to leave.
The person I thought was the manager finally comes over as waitress is in my face telling me I can't leave and things just got worse from there. I state that it is BY FAR the worst service I have ever had (did I mention I have two HUNGRY children who have waited an hour to eat?) and it turns out I am not talking to the manager but to the OWNER! Unbelievable! He left us sitting there for over ten minutes AFTER we had asked for a manager.
I will NEVER walk into the door of Mickey Roo's again and will tell every single person I know about the horrible service I experienced. I used to be be a mystery shopper for several restaurant chains and in all of my experiences I have never seen what I saw tonight.
It is very sad to me when a locally owned place chooses to let service become an afterthought. They had every opportunity to turn it around and chose not to. They just did not care. I predict it will end up being their downfall. Fifty dollars for a family of four for BBQ ($6 kids meals - YIKES!) is high and to have horrid service makes it ridiculous. Go somewhere else!
omg this place is great.
the original owner is back and things cant be any better great food, service and entertainment
i think they really care whats going on, if you are in williamsom county and want a fun place to go , this is it
you should check out their myspace/mickeyroos
i think mickey must be living there, they are awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!
pretty dissapointing. i am a bbq freak and i try every bbq place i can in any area i am in. the ambience of this place was great, the decor was very thought out and looked the "part" and the guy at the register was pretty nice. the food came up real short! i had the brisket tacos and brisket plate. the quality of the brisket for both dishes was very poor. it was dry and looked to be a "re-heat". if i were in franklin just craving some kind of bbq i would go back to eat here, but thats it. judge beans in nashville has some pretty good brisket (can be a little inconsistent) and tex's is pretty good. its a bit of a drive but the best brisket i've had in this area is martins bbq out in nolensville
