Too many better choices.
(This is for Puckett's in downtown Nashville, but there wasn't a listing for them on Citysearch)
I really like the decor at Puckett's and have tried hard to find a reason to like the food, but I've given up. Have gone in 3 times and each time the service was poor and the food was below average. The burger was very salty, almost inedible. The portions were small, which was a plus considering how things tasted, but the prices are too high for the amount of food you get. There are too many quality restaurants in town, so I'm done giving Puckett's my business.
Where's the old Puckett's?. When I came to Nashville Puckett's was one of my favorite places to go. Over the years I have seen Puckett's quality go down. The staff is rude and lazy. They do not check on you to refill your drinks, bring you ketchup, napkins and so on. Once you FINALLY get waited on your waiter disappears. They eventually bring out your food and run off before you can tell them if your order is correct. The management is does not seem to care about their customers. It's a shame...the old Puckett's was wonderful.
An absolute Must Visit. The old time wooden store look and feel with a fabulous staff!! The food is marvelous!!!
Putting a Little Posh Into Your Country!!. A simple little meat & three grocery at first glance, quickly transforms into antique southern elegance by nightfall Tuesday thru Saturday of each and every week.... The music AND service are simply second to none. And while this seems as though it would be enough to keep us coming back....the peach cobbler and maple pecan pie (all from scratch, mind you) have pretty much sealed the deal...
Great atmosphere, fantastic desserts!. Puckett's has such a wonderful atmosphere with mix-matching chairs and tables, country and old fashioned decor, live music at night and and even outdoor seating. The food is great, but the desserts are my favorite. The blackberry cobbler is a must - if you haven't had it, go there and order it with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream!
Like Mom Used To Make (If She'd Had a HUGE Smoker). Since there's a huge smoker out back, Puckett's has smoked ribs, wings, and pulled pork that will make your mouth sing. If meat's not your thing, the desserts are made-from-scratch including cobbler (cherry, peach, blackberry) and cake of the day (ex. red velvet w/ cream cheese frosting). The buttermilk chess pie is my personal favorite.
Great food, great atmosphere. Puckett's has recently won 7 awards in Williamson Co, including best burger, best caterer, best live entertainment..etc.. and it doesn't disappoint. They hands down have the BEST burgers around, and the BBQ (slow cooked on the smoker out back!) is phenomenal. Both pulled pork and ribs are done Memphis style with a dry rub. Everything is made from scratch, except for maybe the fries, even the desserts! The cobbler is to die for, but the other cakes are great too. The staff is very friendly and personable and obviously love working there which is always a good sign. I will definitely keep going back.
Good food, quality entertainment, pleasant atmosphere...OFFENSIVE OWNER / MANAGEMENT. I LOVE MY TOWN! I have called Franklin, TN. "home" for a decade now and became a regular Puckett's customer within just a few months of moving here. I have enjoyed going to Puckett's and recommended it to friends and strangers alike over the years. Unfortunately, those days are over for me and my wife. A couple weeks ago we had dinner there with some friends (who we invited and had never been before). The music was incredible (Pete Huttlinger - CHECK HIM OUT!). There was a misunderstanding over the wording on the flyer that drew us to Puckett's that night. The flyer was poorly worded and misleading. The consequence was a $20 discrepancy on both bills. I spoke with the Mgr and asked that he take the $20 off our friends bill since they were innocent of the confusion. I didn't ask for a refund for myself because it was me who saw the flyer and was misled by the wording. He refused, suggesting that I pay the unexpected $20 on our friends bill in addition to that on my own (appalling). A few days later, feeling that our experience wasn't up to Puckett's standards, I contacted Andy Miller, the owner of Puckett's to give him some feedback on the experience. Again, I didn't ask him for any sort of refund or discount for myself. I did, however, appeal to him that it would be a nice gesture of new customer appreciation if he were to offer our friends a coupon or offer of some sort for any subsequent visit to Puckett's. Though I remained calm, fair, and not inflamatory, his response was extremely defensive and unprofessional. He took no responsibility at all for the misleading wording on the flyer or the feeling of being deceived that we left with that night.. Despite the tone of the call, I left my friends number in case he later reconsidered my feedback. To add insult to injury, he ACTUALLY called my friend to inform him that the mixup that night was totally my fault and offered him no additional discount or gesture of remorse over their bad experience. NOT WORTH IT!
Breakfast was really not very good.
My Husband and I ate there q few months ago and honestly the breakfast was just not good. He had the buffet (big mistake) everything tasted the same, and we could not get silverware, coffee, ketchup, the check. get the picture?
I ordered the pork tenderloin on biscuits (one to an order) not that great of a value for $4.00 dollars. This place has the potential to be really good but it just wasn't.
Editorial Review. Since 1950, this restaurant serves home-style Southern cooking with burgers, ribs, sandwiches, fried catfish and seafood gumbo.
