In Short – Treats like Mom used to make--brownies, cupcakes and pecan pies--entice downtown businesspeople and residents at this Arcade bakery. But it's the moist hunks of Goop Cake, made with coconut milk, that owner Vern Scurlark calls his specialty. During lunch hours, the indigo walls of this sparsely decorated shop draw a line of regulars from the neighborhood and offices ogling the specialty cakes and confections behind the glass cases.

Fabulous cake, beautifully decorated, excellent customer service. Vern and his team pulled out all of the stops to accommodate clients of mine. One half of the couple loves chocolate and the other half does not, so Vern made half and half cakes so all could be pleased and delivered to the event early. They were thrilled with his creation.
