tender, juicy steaks. these guys know how to cook a steak...outback is delicious..but these are THE BEST i've had. Check out the onion rings,,,,HUGE! MMMM, so good. After a bottle of wine for two and dinner, its on the higher side- but that will never keep me away from these steaks
Great atmosphere, good service and good food!. My husband and I went here Friday for a late Valentine's. We had a great experience. We had to wait about 30 min. before we were seated. But I knew that may happen ahead of time. They do not take reservations, but they do call ahead seating with the longest wait time being 30 min. Which I had called ahead. While we waited for our table we sat at the bar and had a glass of wine. The bartenders were very nice. The atmosphere was nice. They have complimentary valet parking. As soon as you walk in the door there is a fireplace. Very nice. Our server was great and the food was very good. Yes it is a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. The rolls were awesome. I had the the Twin Tenderloin Medallions and my husband had the Triple Beef Medallions "Oscar". We both really enjoyed our food. The steaks were very tender and tasty. We will be back!
Where to start???.
What an amazing experience! My husband and I drove up and he dropped me at the front door while he went to park. Well, he was in before I had even made it to the bar because they have complimentary valet parking! We had actually called for Advanced Seating (where they say they will seat you within 30 minutes of your "reservation") and found that there would be a 15-25 minute wait. We went to the bar and had the best bartenders! They recommended a great martini for me and encouraged us to order their Whiskey Shrimp appetizer while we waited. The shrimp came out at the same time as our table was ready so the bartender followed us to our table with our drinks and appetizer! What service!!!
Once we sat down our server came over and told us all about the steaks, told us about some specials and then left. After that, our server was soooo great! Never interrupted us, but made sure we had everything we needed! I got a filet while my husband got this HUGE, and tasty, "Cowboy" steak. We agreed that each steak was the best we had EVER had! We also got a bottle of fabulous wine that our server recommended and he also seemed to know a lot about!
Anyway, without going on and on, I have to say that this was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had! I've been in the restaurant industry for years and eat out a lot and the biggest thing I noticed was that everyone we came into contact with seemed to be very comfortable with what they were doing. That's a hard feeling to describe to people who haven't been in the industry, but it makes the "inexperienced" leave with a warm, fuzzy feeling. Kind of like you were just at a really good friends house for anamazing dinner.
Definitely go!!! It is worth every penny!!!
Avoid!. Dinner is very expensive for what you get - salad was mainly iceberg lettuce and chicken was extremely cold. Service was bad and there was only us and one other table in the whole place. That should have given us a warning not to try it but we did and we were sadly disappointed. The rolls and butter were the best part of the whole meal.
Lunch was awesome. I took my wife here for lunch on our anniversary. We had been to the one in Cool Springs on several occassions but never for lunch. They didn't serve lunch. The new one had a lunch menu that we hadn't seen. My wife and I took 20 minutes to decide what we were having. She had the steak sandwich and I had the fried grouper sandwich. Both were delicious. I highly recommend it for lunch or dinner. Go while the Titans are playing. You'll have their undivided attention.
Lunch and Dinner Were Great. I've gone several times for lunch and for dinner and have found both experiences wonderful. They are doing a super job with the dinner meal--steaks are flavorful and the service is wonderful. Lunch was a nice surprise. I found a number of memorable items, not just the normal lunch meals, and was blown away by teh Shrimp Mac and Cheese and the Tenderloin Sandwich. I'd encourage you to go; new location but no construction in the area and the people are great.
Great steaks and bread!. My boyfriend and I were so excited about the opening of this new location. We went within the first 2 weeks of the opening and were extremely dissapointed with our food. I thought we'd never go back. But we decided to give it another try a few weeks after that. We have been many times since our 2nd visit and have been nothing but delighted with the food and service. All of the steaks are excellent. Avoid the lobster bisque. Enjoy the bread!
Avoid !!!!!!!!!!!. My wife and I had lunch there on Friday, June 30. The best part of the meal was the bread and cinnamon butter. The bread was hot and tasty. That is about where the good ended. The lobster bisque was warm, not hot, and just ok on the taste. The crab cakes had no flavor and the texture was not appealing though the sauce was good. This meal was not worth $50.
disappointed. Head heard good things about other restaurants in this chain, so I was excited to go to this one on WEst End, and went for a company sponsored dinner. The service was subpar and slow: some people got there salads after others got there steaks. Two of us got the filet medium rare: mine was gray and dry in the center while the other was done correctly. I hesitated to send it back due to the long wait. Oh, and did I mention that the line to get your car from the valet was 12 deep? Maybe they just need to work out the kinks in this new restaurant.
Woodsy lodge atmosphere and massive steaks win over the West End crowd..
You're still in the city, though it doesn't feel like it once you step inside Stoney River's cool, masculine dining room. The decor, complete with roaring fire, handsome horseshoe bar and overstuffed couches, feels more hunting-lodge than metropolis. The bright open kitchen bustles with activity; servers are prompt and professional.
Huge portions of steak and seafood rule the menu. Addictive doughnut-style fried rolls set the pace for a night of overindulgence. An appetizer of succulent lamb chops on a nest of fried onions is delicious, but the portion is entree-sized. The cool, crisp iceberg wedge with blue cheese could feed a family. Steaks are perfectly cooked, but garlic-rosemary seasoning overwhelms the flavor of the beef. Seafood comes super-sized, too, like enormous fillet of horseradish-encrusted grouper on a mass of caramelized onion mashed potatoes: the fish is crispy and the mashed potatoes are luscious.
