Editorial Review for Woodlands – by Susan Blue
In Short
This eatery's nondescript pale green walls and fluorescent lighting give way to an extensive menu of flavorful dishes. Families and students gather for lunch and dinner, often lining up at the wide-ranging buffet. The menu includes spring rolls and traditional curries, as well as specialties such as cauliflower fritters, lentil pancakes and many varieties of stuffed rice crepes served with coconut sauce. Newcomers to Indian cuisine may prefer sampling from one of many combo meals.

If you are from South India, you would know exactly what i am talking about. I have heard about this restaurant for a while but never tried it. I took my date once there and the food was delicious. Their South indian food; Dosas and Iddlies are very authentic. mmm..mm.mm. Just loved it. The service was a little slow but they were polite. It is also an inexpensive place to eat and that is a great plus. I have been there a few times after my first encounter and i would definitely recommend this place for some great south indian food.
Pros: great food, inexpensive
Cons: if you are coming off 440West ya gotta know where to turn in to the parking lot. could be a pain sometimes.

I've been to almost all the area Indian restaurants and Woodlands is by far the best I have had. They bill themselves as vegetarian. However, you don't have to be vegetarian to fall in love with this restaurant. There is so much to choose from , it will please anyone. The lunch buffet changes daily and the service is really good. The decor may not be too hot, but it really doesn't matter once you've tried the fare. I do the lunch buffet at least once a week because it has such a great selection. I have done dinner twice and both times it was exceptional. OK...I sound like a commercial. It just seems that so many places have poor help or are overpriced these days...it is refreshing to find this place.
Pros: The food. Even the water is filtered (I found out by eavesdropping on a server)
