In Short – A steel mesh curtain splits this long and narrow restaurant, separating the main dining room from the bar area. Modern decorative touches include bright red floors, custom-made spotlights, blond wood tables and benches, and a low-lit communal sink area outside the bathrooms. Upwardly mobile professionals populate the bar most nights until after the stated closing time. Breakfasts run the gamut from biscuits and gravy to chicken, spinach and fruit crepes.
hard to find, easy to come back

I had a hard time finding this place, although it is right in the thick of a great area, Elliston Place, next to Exit In and Hot Yoga, down from the soda shop. Whether you choose from their specials to their cocktails to their new tapas menu you can not go wrong. It has a modern feel and excellent service. An extensive bar with amazing drinks I have never heard of, mostly because they have been created by the house bartender! The food is comparable to Mambu, Zola's, Acorn. The servings are reasonable and each dish we had was excellent. Skip the chain line cook and have food created and prepared by chef's!
- Pros: parking garage, good atmosphere, great food, great drink selection,
- Cons: one open space but it is not a distraction from the high quality menu's
Great experience at Ombi

We went to Ombi last night and had one of the best meals we've had in Nashville. The special menu offered 3 coursed for 30 and was a great deal. The pappardelle noodles and pizza dough seemed like they were homemade and the server said so. The restaurant wasn't very busy, but the service was great. The bartender (I think he's been there a long time) was really knowledgeable and helpful about wine pairings with the menu. With the prices and food, this restaurant should be much busier.
Disappointing

I used to be a big fan of this restaurant but not anymore. We wondered why on a Saturday night it was void of customers. We soon found out......The french onion soup was briny, the caesar salad bland and tasteless, the bread cold. I ordered "Herbed chicken with potato gnocchi, roasted root vegetables and ham broth." I was served a cold, overcooked piece of chicken, a small amount of bland gnocchi and vegetables swimming in a bowl of ham grease!! There was nothing good about it, in fact, it was repulsive. After one taste I knew I couldn't eat it; it took 15-20 minutes for our waitress to come back to our table to see how our food was! By this time my family had finished their meal.... fries, cold steak, greasy quail. Not only was the food bad...it was overpriced! I would not recommend this restaurant.
- Pros: Ambience, great bar
- Cons: Overpriced, poor food quality, poor service
