Lorey is simply amazing. I have had the privilege of practicing with her steadily for the last two and a half years, and I have learned more from and through her than perhaps anyone outside of my immediate family. She has helped me become more aware about not only yoga, but myself: including my body, my breathing, previous injuries, my mind and emotions and how our physical bodies are affected by our emotional states, and my bad habits. Lorey has always been an open and loving individual towards me, and is a fiercely loyal and sincerely kind teacher. Another great thing about Lorey is how much knowledge she has acquired throughout her years of study with masters all over the United States and India, including her good friend Rodney. Because she has always stated the benefits and direct bodily reactions to specific poses, I now know how to begin to use yoga as a healing practice to help correct specific ailments as they arise (headaches, menstrual cramps, fatigue, giddiness and depression among many more) Her flexibility for tailoring practices for each individuals’ injuries and specific daily or chronic ailments is very admirable. For example, when I injured both of my wrists (before I began practicing yoga) diagnosed as D’Quarvians Syndrome, Tendonitis, and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (through instrumental overuse) Lorey was extremely accommodating and helped me to “pull out” of my wrists and become very aware of when I was “sinking in” to them, holding tension within, and how tension in my wrists was merely the culmination of tension throughout my upper arms, shoulders, upper chest, and lower back, and even my hamstrings. Overall, she is a superior teacher and guide for one’s journey in yoga practices. Oh, and contrary to some previously written negative reviews – I have never, never experienced anything like those woman have described. I am a young female student, and have never witnessed any of those alleged behaviors. I highly, highly reccomend Lorey.
Pros: Knowledgeable, accommodating, tailor-made classes, encouraging, professional, student discounts

Although I am reluctant to leave a negative review, I agree completely with the review titled “Hypocritical Yoga” and strongly advise against taking this teacher’s classes, especially if you are new to yoga. It would be most unfortunate for a newcomer to have their introduction to yoga through this mean-spirited teacher. Although the teacher knows yoga poses, she has a lot to learn about how to teach and interact with students in a pleasant, professional and respectful manner. Her treatment of some students is shockingly bad – sometimes even hateful. I know of at least three former students who now refuse to attend her classes because of her attitude. There are many good and well-balanced yoga teachers in the Nashville area who create an accepting and pleasant environment in which to learn and practice yoga. Unfortunately, this is not one of them. Look around Citysearch and find a good teacher!
