Excellent Service, Easy to deal with – Called a ton of movers before I chose Crossroads...some were too $$$ ($250 to move 1 couch, 1 loveseat and 1 chair 5 miles...REALLY??), some didn't return my calls, some were downright rude. The reasonable price and initial friendliness are why I chose Crossroads. They moved our "man cave" furniture from the store into our basement. The office staff was friendly, kept me informed and was pleasant to deal with. The two guys who did the move were on time and very careful and conscientious with our new furniture. They were very nice also. Nothing but good things to say about Crossroads.

Christian based company??????? when you see the pictures....enough said...ugh! will make sure I know who I am dealing with next time
Smart review by JoJetty re how to tell... – You are very smart!!! I should have done my homework. I just used them and the worst move ever! They earned the F and will be having more complaints to deal with at the Better Business Bureau, and will be contacting the Chamber of Commerce to warn all those who do a business to business, etc... They still have not resolved all damages that occurred
How To Tell Which Reviews are From Crossroads Employees – First of all, I don't think anyone will question that these good reviews are clearly written by people connected with Crossroads Moving. They are so blatantly over the top and ridiculous that they stand out as having been written by employees.
However, the key give-away that they are all written not only by Crossroads employees, but probably even by the same person, is that in all of the good reviews, the people doing the reviewing never just have a SINGLE move - they always are people who have moved MULTIPLE times in the last VERY FEW years. Who does that?
And, if there is someone who does happen to have to move several times in a short amount of time, it doesn't happen THAT often to the SAME small company in the SAME small town to people who are active enough on the computer to go and leave feedback.
Think about it. How many people come and leave feedback for ANY SERVICE on the Internet? A TINY percentage.
Of that tiny percentage, what percentage of THOSE reviewers come to the Internet only to leave POSITIVE reviews? Now the number is really tiny, because people almost always only come to leave feedback if they've had a bad experience.
Now, of THAT infinitesimal percentage of people, what are the chances that multiple people are going to come to the tiny website of a tiny company in a small town to leave positive feedback who all come from the same unlikely experiences where they have had to move multiple times in the last few years.
See what I mean?
All of those reviews were written, more than likely, not only by a Crossroads employee, but by a single individual.
I came to this page looking for a moving company. I am moving Sept. 10. All of you who have left reviews here, I want you to know your reviews were not left in vain.
Because of your reviews and your taking the time to share your experiences, I am NOT using this company, which I was going to use until I read these reviews.
Well, that and the fact that I checked their Better Business Bureau grade, which as of today, August 29, 2011, is an F.
DO NOT USE!! – My mom used these people and wound up with two pieces of very expensive jewelry missing, and damage to her door frame. Yes, she should have moved the jewelry herself, but sometimes in the stress of moving, you overlook certain things....anyway, when she called the company the receptionist was EXTREMELY rude and non-helpful, even going so far as to yell at my mom and call her a liar! (which she is most definitely not). And forget about trying to talk to the manager....you couldn't meet or talk to him if your life depended on it. Now she is going to file a police report and try to make these sorry people pay....
Awesome Experiance – My career choice requires that I move a lot. I have used this company for the last 5 years. I wouldnt trust anyone else with my possesions.
They always show up on time and get the things loaded quickly and proffesionally. The guys are are friendly and hard working. I have not had anything broken or damaged. The rates are competitave and the quoted amount is the amount I paid.
I have had the pleasure of meeting the Owner and was impressed with his hands on attitude and attention to detail.
Overall I felt that my most personal belongings, were being handled by people that treated them as if it were their own. I am moving again this month and have already scheduled it thru Crossroads.
Still in disbelief.... – I don't want to get too much into my experience because it was so frustrating that it will just get me upset and on a long rant about how this company is far from professional and is a complete rip-off. Like other reviews they quoted me a fair price at first even without ever coming to inspect how much we had to move and what tools/men/trucks they would need. We like others had to end up paying almost double the cost of the estimate and our electronics were held "hostage" at the end of the job and were told if we didn't pay then the rest of our belongings they kept back on the truck were theirs if we didn't pay. The workers seemed like decent people but they definitely could have got the job done a lot quicker then they did. One of the workers spent most of his time on his cell phone and even told me and my wife that he is disabled and isn't even supposed to be working since he collects a disability check every month, and then he had to leave the job 4 hours early and Crossroads still wanted to charge us for 3 men and just subtract the travel time which was only 30 minutes when we only lived 2 miles down the street from the actual company and were moving only 3-4 miles down the street. They also showed up with a small 10 foot truck when we agreed on a 27 foot truck and ended up having to take 2 trips, which is what boggled me even more when they tried to make it seem like they were doing me a favor by taking off 30 minutes of travel time but they still had to charge me for the travel time on the extra trip. Not only that, they broke a few things, but they didn't pack the truck right and some packed liquids ended up spilling all over our clothes and couches. The driver told us they could do nothing about it because we signed the papers saying anything packed by owners that is broken is our fault, which it wasn't our packing, it was their lousy loading. I felt bad for the driver who at the end tried to make the situation right but he couldn't get in touch with the owner who was there but would only relay messages through the assistant who might I add has no clue what she is doing at all.....I ended up paying the bill just to get the whole ordeal over with. I also might add that I work for homeland security and the fact that the mover told me that he's working when he's collecting a military disability check and isn't supposed to be working and then leaves early, well, it really eats me up. The movers also had 2 wheel dollies for boxes on the truck, which they never used, and I got very upset when seeing 2 men take boxes that weighed maybe 2 pounds in one hand from our 3rd floor apartment all the way to the truck all day, my wife could have done that and we even told them to just grab the large furniture. I'm still debating on whether to turn this company in, which I'm sure I will after reading the other corrupt actions of this "company" and I feel sorry for other people who have been ripped off and screwed over by this poorly ran business. The owner either has no clue at all what he is doing, or he simply just doesn't give a care. I would go ahead and suggest to anyone actually reading reviews and searching for the best moving company to PLEASE stray away from Crossroads. I also wanted to add I'm a Christian and I'm all about forgiveness and second chances and having faith in people, but what was displayed and what I saw from this operation, well, it's just garbage and I encourage anyone who does end up using Crossroads to please stand up to these people and don't let them pull their non-sense on you and try to rip you off because they seem like the type of business who will take full advantage of someone who doesn't know any better and get them for everything they can.
AVOID AT ALL COST. – Okay, first of all they quoted me over the phone and told me it wouldn't take more then 5-6 hours and I requested the largest truck and 4 men. They arrived late and only brought 3 mean, which only 1 of them really worked. I really felt like I was getting the run around from the get go, the driver couldn't really explain to me the contract other then what he had memorized and where to sign. I told them not to worry about padding most furniture and that I had a time frame and that there were certain pieces that needed extra care. Two of the helpers/movers seemed high and definitely on drugs (which I'll get back to that later...). I told the driver plenty of times don't worry about padding the certain items. Anyways long story short, the 5 hours job turned into an almost 14 hour day because they went ahead and took their sweet time wrapping and padding everything when I told them NOT to do. When we were unloading as I watched them take a desk into my office they put a big scratch/hole in my wall and I heard one of the movers make a sly remark that "oh well he didn't give an F it's not his stuff", right in front of me....HOW RUDE. Anyways, the job was horrible, took too long, they still tried to charge me for the big truck and 4 men saying they mis-quoted the 4 man price and the owner was nowhere to be found when I wanted to dispute the cost of the bill. I refused to pay what they were going to charge me (ALMOST 4,000 DOLLARS for a 3 bedroom apartment to a flat level house with 3 men!!!!). After that whole ordeal and never getting a call back from the owner, we noticed all the scratches and damage that was done to our furniture even though they took hours to pad it to ensure it's safe delivery. After the damage, we noticed some of my wife's prescription medications were missing, not lost or gone, but her newly filled prescription bottles that were in our master bathroom had only 3-4 pills in each bottle. We never got contacted back on that issue either. You may think you're getting a deal with this place, but I will never ever ever in my life even think about suggesting this company to anyone. Completely rude, unprofessional, and definitely ended up costing me way more then it would have just using the first company I called.
best movers in country – i used them in July 0f 2009. I will use them again in Septerber of 2010. The cost was even lower than the estermate. I have told several people and all of them where also pleased. The men worker hard and moved furnature several times to help setup the room as we wished.
customer beware – Do your homework and check with the Better Business Bureau... Also check with the Tenn Dept of Consumer Affairs.... You'll save yourself a lot of grief if you are not mislead by their claims of "christian directed company".
