GREAT PLACE!!. This was our family's first trip to Nashville. We were looking for a nice place to eat and the Aquarium Restaurant popped up. I read a few reviews and thought this might be a big risk, but decided we would judge for ourselves. We were completely satisfied!! The place is truly amazing, very beautiful. The food was delicious, not a long wait. The waitress was super nice. I had a "favorite", with white fish, fried shrimp, oysters, stuffed shrimp, and stuffed crab. My husband and son had the surf and turf. It was excellent. My suggestion is to judge for yourself. No complaints here. SO glad we went. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Great Experience!!. I am a Nashvillian but had never visited the Aquarium Restaurant before last weekend. I thought it was a pretty cool experience for a Saturday afternoon with a bunch of kids and no agenda of what to do for the day. I was surprised to see the variety of aquatic life in the restaurant's tank and my kids (ranging from 3-13) were entertained. My calamari was great - previous experiences with calamari at other restaurants made me want to steer away but I am glad that I tried it again. I had a party of 7 seven so my bill was hefty. But, it kept me from driving to Chattanooga for their aquarium! The ambience was very nice and I can imagine the Romantics around town would go for the atmosphere. The hostess could have been a little nicer but my service was pretty good...remember, I had a party of seven. So, overall, I was pleased.

Extremely Poor Choice.. I was warned by co-workers to be prepared for bad food. Not only was the food bad but the service was equally poor. I had a bowl of seafood gumbo that was burned to the point that it tasted like charred coffee, and the only recognizable seafood in the dish were the rubbery shrimp. The shrimp scampi also came with super tough shrimp. The fish tacos fell apart, and the fish tasted like it may have come straight out of a cardboard freezer box. My table received five dishes in all, all of which were sub-par. It was a laughable disappointment especially when we received the bill. We being from Nashville now understand the terrible reputation that this place has with locals. The high cost of maintaining a huge aquarium filled with exotic fish has to be the only reason for the expensive dishes. I'm sure in saying that money is not invested in anything quality when it comes to the ingredients. Nothing was fresh. I'm amazed that this place is able to survive, it's that bad. The tourist money that comes through Opry Mills Mall has to be the only thing keeping this place afloat. There's more bad to tell but I spare the details and instead urge anyone to reconsider dining here. Yuck.

DO NOT EAT HERE. I have already reviewed on tripadvisor but with the way corp has (not) handled my concerns has left an even worse taste in my mouth. My fiance & I have limited time to spend together & were excited to have a meal in such a romantic setting. Reservations were for 6 & our credit card was swiped at 6:43. This means that with the 5 min it took to be seated & the additional 5 long min before we were greeted, we were allotted 33 minutes total to dine. Our server was terrible from the beginning & did not speak more than she had to. She did not ask if we had any questions or make any suggestions. She took our order so quickly that I had to call out to her as she left that I wanted to add a salad to my meal (I only knew about this from reading the menu). We weren't given bread. She didn't even warn me that she was plopping a salad in front of me from behind or offer any pepper. We were less than halfway through our dinner when she came to "drop the check" ,at which time, she cleared my fiance's empty beer glass & did not offer him another. We couldn't see a manager on the floor but found the retail manager on our way out. We expressed our displeasure & he apologized. This server had been there for 2 years & never got complaints, he told us. He went to the hostess stand to get us the corporate number & ran into the dining room manager there. He explained our concerns to him. The floor manager made eye contact but not show the respect to come speak to us. On our way out an employee stopped us to say that she felt bad that we had had a bad experience. She told us that our server had waited on she & her family before & was just as horrible with them. I attempted to speak to someone at corp the following week. I was unable to reach a live person. I have left several messages but have still not heard back from anyone. It seems that this company is in it for the quick buck & could care less about offering quality customer service or an exceptional dining experience. WHAT A JOKE!

AVOID WITH EXPENSIVE BELONGINGS. If you are attending this restaurant in hopes of good food that might be ok but if your going to enter with a nice pair of sunglasses or anything else valuable you would be better off to leave it outside the door! I ate there on Saturday at 2 p.m. the place wasn't busy no wait at all and seated fast. I got ready to leave left the tip a generous considering all I had was a coke! Left turned around not 10 min later walked back in and asked if they found my glasses! There was a guy at the hostess stand in his waiter uniform who walked in the back and returned and said the glasses where in the back! So I waited longer and still no glasses the guy who waited on me walked by and turned his head as if he didn't know I was looking for my glasses. Spoke to Eric the manager today and he said that he would call me back well I ended up calling him back at 5:39 since that 4 hours had passed when he was suppose to call me! He stated that he couldn't get a straight answer from his employees which says in my mind someone at the place had my glasses.. Thats fine I will take the loss of 180.00 pair of Oakleys that coke ended up costing me 187.00 so apparently they have the best coke in town at this price. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone at all like I said be careful could possibly get robbed at your table by the one your paying to take care of you!!

waitress wanted to be home instead. Well I was looking forward to this for 3 weeks, as it was our anniversary. We arrived a little early, there was hardly anyone there (4:30 pm) we were seated but made the mistake of walking on the wrong side of the ropes when you first walk in,oopps. we were told to stay to the LEFT. tanks were beautiful and so clean, ok... our waitress seemed to be very nice, she took our order and left, some one else delivered our food to us and we never received bread on the table as all other tables did. she didnt come back for some time and all waitstaff were seen talking with customers about the tanks and the fish, no communication with us at all. fries were way to salty! all in all a beautiful place but some waitstaff would rather be at home then there, oh ya if you save your dinner receipt and go across the way to sting ray reef, show them the receipt and you get free food to feed the rays. diver feeding at 5:30 was awesome, he was very frendly and was waving to customers, nice place but very over priced for what you get.

Great atmosphere, pretty good food, confused seating hostesses. Food is good, great when you compare it to the rain forest cafe. I had reservations for 3 weeks in advance for a birthday dinner. I wanted to be seated by 6:30 so when I phoned weeks in advance, the girl recommended I make it and show up at 6 to have a large party seated by 6:30. Getting there at 6 per their request, they seemed upset the entire party wasn't there at this time, but did allow us to sit down at 6:30 (they were not super busy). They seated us at a ROUND table that was 2 short of our reservation. They said the remainder of the party could sit at a nearby table. After throwing a stink about this, the manager did manage to move 3 tables together. The seating hostesses are not the brightest, but it was a good evening once management was involved.

Poor management. I visited the restaurant in March of 2008. I was seated promptly but that was the last positive. The Safari Club that I purchased at Rainforest Cafe (which I highly recommend) was not honored even though the restaurant was listed as a participant. I drove over over 150 miles to visit this restaurant because of my grandchildren. The service was slow and rude. The food was pricey even for the children. The adults did not order due to the rudeness of the waitress and the refusal to honor the Safari Club discount. I filed a complaint with an agency after the management would not respond to my phone calls. The management would not respond to the agency either. I was very disappointed and would not recommned this restaurant due to the management. The Rainforest Cafe is far better and the children enjoyed the atmosphere. Visit the Stingray Reef instead of the Restaurant.

Best Seafood in Nashville.. We went Sunday evening to celebrate my son's birthday with his wife and 2 sons. We were seated immediately and our waiter was very prompt and attentive. Our 2 grandsons loved the fish tank. We love the ambiance of the full Aquarium experience. The food was delicious, service was excellent and we will definitely be back.
