In Short
Like the larger, original Red Door in Nashville's midtown district, this laid-back watering hole in the Five Points neighborhood showcases some quirky decor--giant cans of Red Bull for tables, full-size skeletons, a Pabst Blue Ribbon shrine--along with a handful of beers on draft and a no-frills hearty menu. A generous-sized outdoor deck is popular in the summer months and a respite from a somewhat smoky interior.

I am a Veteran of the U.S. Army and a motorcycle enthusiast. I am currently a member of a Motorcycle Club comprised of Military Veterans of all branches. Our organization is recognized nationally as a non-profit entity, which is an active part of every community we are in. Locally, we have held fundraisers for Operation Stand Down Nashville (OSDN) and the United Service Organizations (USO). In the five years we have been a part of the Nashville community, our members have donated both their time and money to numerous local charities. Additionally, our members are productive citizens, who contribute to this community. As part of the community, we often patronize local businesses and many local businesses have supported us in our fundraising endeavors. As a Motorcycle Club, with a deep pride in our Military heritage, we always wear our organization?s logo (Colors) when patronizing local establishments. Until recently, this has never been a problem and we have been welcome everywhere. Recently, several members U.S. Military Vets MC, as well as members of Rolling Thunder, Inc. went to the Red Door Saloon East in the Five Points neighborhood, where we have been customers for several years. Upon entering the Red Door Saloon East, we were informed that we could no longer wear our ?Colors? in this establishment. When asked what had changed, I was informed the restriction was due to problems with another organization, and not due to our organization. It?s a sad day when long time patrons, who are productive members of this community and Veterans of the United States Armed Forces, are suddenly told they cannot enter an establishment if they continue showing pride in their service to our country. On their website, the Red Door Saloon East touts ?patrons from every walk of life?. Well, I certainly hope after reading this, Veterans and motorcycle enthusiasts alike will think twice before patronizing the Red Door Saloon East.

I usually visit on the weekday when I really want/need to unwind. Don't go here for a full meal. It's a bar in every sense of the word. The atmosphere is friendly and the bartenders that I have come into contact with were great!! I love to sit on the deck with my drink and my chips n dip; chilling out.

This place used to be my favorite bar in Nashville and it still is on certain nights. The crowd and the bartenders really make or break this place. There are a few bartenders here that are the best in Nashville and a few that are the worst. Additionally, it can get unbelievably crowded, noisy, and smoky. I usually stay away from this place on the weekends and go during the week.
