Mark is the best in Nashville. I've had Mark cut my hair for over 3 years and the results after every visit are perfect. I have pretty thin hair, but Mark's cutting techniques actually make me look like I have more hair. Overall a genuinely nice person who is great at what he does.

ps - I always go to Mark, but everyone I see when I'm there is also very impressed with Amanda, Dana and Kristin's work. A truly great salon.

Best Ever!. I had the same girl do my hair for several years, so when I moved to Nashville, I was scared to have someone else do my hair. After a few appointments there, I was so confident with Amanda, I'd go in and just tell her to do whatever she thought would look good...and I've NEVER been dissapointed.

I love all the stylists there; they are all fabulous. One of the things I like the most is that they all know exactly what they are doing, but sometimes they'll ask another stylist if they think something different would look better. It's almost like having 3-4 stylists working on you at one time!

They also carry make up and skin care products. Mark has helped me a ton with make up, and sometimes they even have someone there doing facials. It is always such a fun environment.

Best Color and Cut in Nashville. I love Cognito and Mark. I have been going there for over two years now and it is one of the best salons I have ever been to and I have been to a lot. The color is amazing! I get so many compliments about my color thanks to Mark. The staff is always professional and helpful. I highly recommend Mark as a colorist and stylist.

Excellent Service, Mark's a true artist with color and cuts!. I love Cognito. Mark is excellent with color and cuts. He is a true artist and consistent, which is important. I have been going to this salon for several years now and had to go to another hairdresser when I was out of town once. Huge mistake, I should have just waited until I got back home. Excellent staff, Mark is the best!

horrible!. if you want incorrect info told to other clients then you are in the right place!! the most gossipy staff, especially mark!! sometimes a good cut is not worth the drama and hassle involved..if you go- remain tight lipped!

The BEST hair salon I have EVER been to.. Hands-down the best hair salon I have ever been to. I have been twice for cut/color/highlight and both times Amanda (the owner) was extraordinarily receptive and sweet, the banter between the employees was so much fun, and there was never the air of cattiness or negative gossip at Cognito that ruin the pampering experience so many other salons. Both times, everything she did was done perfectly; no need to touch-ups for, well, it's been a few months now and my hair STILL looks awesome! The highlights grew out without the dreaded line of demarcation though her perfected application techniques, and I never once felt pressure to do anything more or purchase any more products than I had been set on before I entered the salon. Highly recommended!

best hair salon ever. Cognito is the best hair salon i've ever been to. The people are very friendly and accommodating, the prices are good, and the hair cuts are even better. I have never had better service or a better hair cut anywhere!

Your Hair will LOVE YOU!!!!. I had always colored my own hair. When I first walked into this professional salon, I felt as if I had walked into a salon waiting to serve ME. They were not pushy, asked ME questions about what I wanted to do and were realistic in what they suggested to me. They offered me beverages while waiting, and have even walked to the meter outside to put in extra change when I was inside getting my hair done! They laugh and have a good time while working and you actually feel as if you've been to a "hair gym"........my hair (and me) loves them when I leave. And I always leave happy with what they've done under my ideas and approval. They've never done anything without ASKING if I thought it was a good idea first. Of course Jessie is my favorite (she does my hair) but all of them are so very good. Mark can give a GREAT shampoo!!! OMG! So yep, I give them a 10 PLUS in this rating!!! Cyndi Girl

Awesome place to get your hair did!. I get the best haircuts EVER at Cognito! The staff is tops, the salon decor modern looking. There's always a nice hot cup of tea or coffee waiting for you, and I can always count on hearing my favorite music being piped through the sound system. At Cognito, you're treated like family...not just a client. I always look forward to going there for a new do!
