The Promise Land.
I just moved to Nashville last week from Beverly Hills, CA. After a 4 months moving process of packing, hauling, lugging, driving and unpacking, I needed some major R&R and pampering.
Based on other reviews, I bet on Andante Day Spa to be my place and boy did they deliver. I can't say enough of how pleasantly surprised I was - coming from Los Angeles, having been to some of the top spas in the nation, I had my reservations, but this is certainly Nashville's Promise Land. I described it to my hubby as a "Burke Williams on a smaller scale." (Google them if you want to see what I'm talking about).
The ambiance is so inviting, clean and warm. The instant I finished my paperwork, Jacqueline was greeting me with a huge smile and a glass of ice water. She guided me to the locker room where I safetly stowed my posessions and changed into a yummy robe and sandals. First was my facial - heaven. Moving is very stressful and brings the less healthy food, so I needed some major cleansing. The greatest thing was Jacqueline quietly educated me every step of the way so I understood what she was doing and how to continue the cleansing routine once I was home. She made sure to write all suggestions down for me so I could remember after my brain went to jelly from relaxation. She is a doll and the most genuine professional.
Next was my swedish massage with Tanithia. The woman has magic hands and skills straight from God himself. She refilled my water as she listened to all my concerns and list of pains and addressed each one carefully and instensely. It was the perfect combination of kneeding and working pressure and total relaxation. I definately had the "massage drunkeness" afterwards. Afterwards, she greeted me with more water (hydration is very important during these treatments!) and took me back to Jacqueline for some waxing and reapplication of sunscreen and moisturizer. She wanted to wait after my massage since I would wipe it off laying on the bed face craddle. Genius lady.
Everyone in the establishment was so welcoming and personal. I felt so safe and tucked away from reality. I appreciate how attentive every lady was to me. This place is a haven and a goldmind in my eyes. So close to me and easy to get to. I can't wait to book my next appointment. I feel a mani/pedi in my future.
PS - before you go, look on their website for monthly specials. I meant to mention the March Madness special but totally forgot when I was checking out. Could've gotten $10-$15 dollars off. Erg. Stupid Massage Drunkeness.…
What a Spa! / South side best kept secret!!!. I treated myself to a wonderful morning at Andante Day Spa - Nashville, TN. I enjoyed the Sauna Treatment, Swedish Massage and Aromatherapy Body Polish. The experience left me feeling like a new woman. I was welcomed , pampered and taken great care of from the moment I entered the door. The lady who applied the Aromatherapy Body Polish was a delightful. *Tanithia's massage* was wonderful and she was attentive to the detailed information about my body. What a team of professionals!!! I will be scheduling the services again and I will be requesting the same ladies. Thank you all…
Definitely will be a repeat customer!. My fabulous husband gave me a swedish massage & express facial as an anniversary gift while I was in Nashville (I live in Kansas City.) Oh my goodness, it was fantastic! Tanithia's massage was right on the money. She took the time to work on my trouble areas instead of treating me like every other customer who may have different needs. My time with her was very relaxing, pleasant, and enjoyable. A couple of the spots were *slightly* uncomfortable in the process, but I knew it was for long-term good. I left feeling like Gumby in a puddle! I do not have a sore muscle or tweak anywhere in my body!!! That experience was followed by a fantastic facial from Jacqueline. Once again, I melted into heaven for a few minutes. My skin feels better than it has in years (it's like butta!)…
AnitaManicure.
I couldn't find the place to write a review for Anita Allen, who does the manicures and pedicures....I believe she is an independent business operating within the building, but I could be wrong.
I typically go to Green Hills, Signature Spa, for my nails. I don't really like those type of in-out fast places, but they are kind of classy for what it is, and give you a drink. I opt for this over salon manicures becuase they are typically much more expensive.
I used a groupon which made it very affordable, but believe I will be back. Her prices are competitive, as far as salon services go, and I was really impressed with the fact that she took it upon herself to assure me of the hygeine of the place. Regular clients have a baggie with their own tools, such as nail files and buffers, to limit the risk of catching something. The only thing that is not exclusively yours are the stainless steel tools, which are clearly in a disinfectant solution (barbacide? it's the blue stuff).
The hygeine factor has always made me want to go to a real salon, as I question how scrupulously clean the baths/tools are in these other type of shops.
I also noticed that the tips of my normally thin flaky nails were somehow thickened up, almost like a very, very fine overlay. I used to get acrylic overlay to harden my nails and make them perfect, but that was only slightly better than actual glue, in terms of causing flaking.
When I emailed her my thanks, I noted that I loved whatever she did. She emailed back to say that she forgot to mention not to pull out the fill at the end of my nails, as it keeps the polish intact indefinetely longer. Upon inspection, I do see there is an almost invisible line of something clear that not only makes my nails perfectly hard, but is coating the nail to make chipping less likely.
Also, while this should be standard practice, it is worth noting that she knows how to use her tools. I was not hurt once with the clippers and my cuticles look great. This does not, however, suprise me. I had to make my appointment to make sure mine and LEANN RIMES before me did not conflict. She was getting fresh paint for the CMA's.
Just wanted to note that I will be back and recommend her. I don't normally do reviews, but, researching the groupon, I saw a review that was not really favorable for nails. Perhaps that was a different nail tech, but I am extremely happy with my results.
P.S. - She sent me away with a goodie back with a piece of chocolate and a little keychain flashlight. Love it.…
Nashville's best kept secret!!!!. All I can say is that this is a great escape! The staff is so professional and accomodating. I look forward to Tanithia's massage! She listens to your requests and delivers! I will definitely be going back!…
