Editorial Review for BarTwenty3 – by Jonathan Flax

In Short
This chic two-story bar features a starkly modern white-and-gray color scheme, with sleek vinyl booths beside steel circular tables on shiny dark concrete. Frosted-glass light towers dominate either end of the club. Trendy locals and young urban professionals alike flock here on weekend evenings, while weekday nights have a more neighborhood feel. DJs spin downtempo and lounge all week, and provide a live element to the music, which is typically set to a conversation-friendly volume.

Insider Tips

When to Go

For a mellower atmosphere, try Monday to Thursday nights between 9pm and 11pm. The room is twice as packed on weekend nights.

Parking

Avoid the temptation of parking across the street at Station Inn, they tow. Use valet if street parking is unavailable.

Let's face it.... brooklyn25's review was really a review of "nashville's finest" versus the barbie blonde goofy current and newly post college graduates. The review had nothing to do with Bar Tewnty3. As a matter of fact, brooklyn25 still seems to think the bar is damn good... just the people are lame. Keep in mind, I am probably as old as brooklyn25 and I make as much money, but i wouldn't have the nerve to call myself "the finest" nor would i put down the people that keep a great bar alive (let's not forget that 100 22 year olds can drink a bit more than one of nashville's finest). Oh, and those silly kids that have something to prove to their friends back home... yeah, turns out, they're a lot of fun. Maybe brooklyn25 should step out of the "woe is me i'm too old to enjoy the company of fun/ silly/ innocent/ over-confident/ but sometimes great people" and come back to Bar Twenty3... Hell, i'll be there tonight and I'll buy you a drink.

I cannot believe that anybody could not love Bar Twenty3. Bar Twenty3 has been open for over 3 years and it is still THE hotspot in Nashville. It has won more awards and gotten more acclaim than any other bar in town and rightly so. I have been coming here since it opened and have always been treated well and am always taken care of. I think they do a great job of making sure the crowd looks good and acts well. Everytime I go I have an amazing time and usually end of seeing a celebrity or two. I really enjoy Bar Twenty3...Keep up the good work.

Pros: Awesome Place, Great Staff, Great People Watching
