Editorial Review for Red Carpet Bar & Lounge – by Jonathan Flax
The Scene
Located underground in an office building near the Broadway/West End split, the only noticeable landmark is a flashing strobe light in the window. Inside, the atmosphere is more than welcoming, with cozy booths, low ceilings, dance floor replete with blinking lights and a large mirrored wall, and lots and lots of red: not just the carpet, but walls, bar stools, and most of the high-backed leather chairs. Black curtains and cool vibe lanterns on window ledges add to the subterranean nightclub flavor.
The Draw
Established by Nashville Kats linemen James Baron and Robert "Big Daddy" Gaddy, this full-service bar and live-music venue caters to an urban, sophisticated clientele. The well-dressed, somewhat older crowd (male patrons must be at least 25; women 21 and up are admitted) arrives in droves for happy hour Monday-Tuesday and Thursday (5pm-8pm), and on Fridays for the live sounds of the suitably loud, crowd-pleasing house funk band, Velvet Soul.

Honestly, Red Carpet is one of the better African American nightclubs I've visited in Nashville. This club offers valet parking. Once I've danced all night, I can wait at the door for my vehicle. The atmosphere is very laid back and enjoyable. The enviroment is very safe (unlike many local nightclubs). The staff is unbelievably nice and considerate. I can't imagine why someone wouldn't enjoy themselves there. I would recommend the Red Carpet to anyone seeking a mature crowd that likes to party.
Pros: valet parking, inexpensive, multiple bartenders

My husband and I went to Red Carpet Bar & Lounge to bring in the New Years and was very dissappointed. We decided to treat ourselves and brought VIP status and what a waste of money. When we went into VIP there was barely anyone in there, food was only cut up lunch meat, pork and beans, rolls, cheese and a fountain pouring watered down what ever was in it (all we knew it was baby blue). When it was time to count down to the new years the dj continued to play music and luckily the few people there kept up with the time and blew the party favors and sanged happy new years. (the dj stop playing music after 12 oclock to say happy new years). Turns out to be another night at the bar.
Pros: Nice bartenders, Good Music
Cons: Don't go for the , holidays, VIP not worth it.
