Mafiaoza's Pizzeria and Neighborhood Pub is located in the 12th South District, one block off Belmont Avenue. They offer an extensive wine list and a large assortment of beers and spirits. Their pizza and Italian dishes are made from scratch daily, including bruschette, fried cheese ravioli sticks, calamari, fresh salads, soups, sandwiches, pasta dishes and pizza pies. One of their specialties is "The Mark" -- roasted diced chicken with oven-roasted tomatoes, marinated mushrooms, broccoli and angel hair pasta with a pesto cream sauce.

In Short – This local favorite fits right into its bustling 12South neighborhood. The dining room is spacious, yet intimate. Couples and families watch through the open kitchen as their food is prepared tantalizingly close to their tables. Expect large portions and fresh ingredients on the multitude of pastas, salads and sandwiches. Pizza is the star here, with atypical ingredients including artichoke hearts, ricotta cheese and eggplant loaded onto New York-style thin and crunchy crust.
Pizza was a Flop

I went to M's for the first time last weekend and was expecting it to be wonderful. All of my college friends go on a regular basis and rave about it (but then they mostly go for the beer).
When we got there on a Saturday night at 8ish the wait was 45 min. Not bad. When we finally sat down, we had fried ravioli stick (which were delicious) and all ordered pizza.
This was the WORST pizza I have ever had in my entire life. The crust was thin and limp, because I had ordered a slice all the toppings were in the very middle. The broccoli was raw and there was a very small handful of cheese sprinkled over the top of the toppings pile.
- Pros: trendy, ravioli sticks
- Cons: crowded, terrible pizza
this pizza travels well!

I lived in Nashville for a short time for work and ate at this fine place many nights a week. A week ago, my girlfriend was back in Nashville (we live in LA) and the good folks were kind enough to pack up a couple of pizzas into a hot bag that she could bring back to me in LA. The pizza was just as good after traveling as it was in the shop... the only thing missing were the good people and atmosphere that Mafiaoza's has to offer! Keep on rockin' out the good eats!
- Pros: food, drink, servers, owners
- Cons: not in LA
great so far!
