Tips for Budget Brakes

Horrible Service and Prices!!. I normally have my husband put brakes on my car but he didn't feel like messing with it this time so I thought I would take my car to "Budget Brakes" instead. WRONG!! I will NEVER go there again. When I arrive I tell the man I only need front brakes installed. After waiting an hour for them to pull my car in the shop, the man finally comes out to tell me how much it would cost. I almost passed out when I saw what he was trying to charge me!!! Almost 400 dollars!! (front and back brakes) After I refused to pay that he said he could charge me 200 brakes and labor (130.00 for brakes and 70.00 for labor)!! Needless to say I said NO to that too!! I'm not a dummy! I know how much brakes cost at a part store and they don't cost 130 dollars!! After I tell him put my stuff back on my car and that I was leaving did he offer me the 89.99 price!! Sorry, but after you try to rip me off what would make you think I would pay you anything?! Then he started getting real snippy and hateful with me and this was the so called "SERVICE MANAGER". There was nothing good about that place and I wouldn't recommend anyone going there to have their brakes fixed!!

avoid at all cost. worse place i have always worked on my own vechicals for once desided to let someone else do went for a front end alignment knew ball joints were bad so let them do mistake 1 took 7 1/2 hrs they screwed up the control arms and had to go get new one was told no cost to me well ball joints were 59.99 bushings were 79.99 that what told would be charged yet got bill and had control arms 159.99. finaly get done and leaving now there is a wobble and it pulls to left. was told come back they make right go back they say it my tires that are causing it. after a few words i take my truck and leave. got home and went to look at myself well 2 lug nuts stripped was 1st i find then the caliper bolts werent tight o wait that because they stripped out the spindle they bolt to. so now im replacing more of their mess ups by the way in my 7 1/2 hr wait i notice 2 things no certification sticker in the window and 2nd looked at the boxes from parts in the dumpster and all are made in china. for the prices they want for parts they are high for china parts. so avoid at all cost i learn my leason the hard way $877 the hard way and now spending another 200 fixing their unknowledgeable ways

CHEAP isn't always a good thing.... Sure, the price is low. But sometimes CHEAP is exactly that... I literally took my truck there 4 times within one year because of brake issues... New brakes, new calipers, new rotors - new stuff all over the place... Everything they fixed all broke more than once within that year... Every time I left they said I should be "good to go" and that "everything checked out alright" but nothing stayed fixed for more than 2 or 3 months at best. It seems their gimmick is to tell you about the lifetime warranty on the pads - and then make you come back twice as much as anyone else because their parts are junk. My brakes shouldn't squeak within 2 months of having new pads installed. And NO, I didn't buy their cheap pads either... (well, not the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th time) I bought the most expensive ones they sold because they were trying to blame the squeak on their "cheap" pads. (which I don't doubt, but their "high-end" product was not any better)

I took my truck to another brake shop - and haven't had to go back yet. It's been almost 18 months... not even a squeak yet, and all the parts work still. I'll NEVER spend my money at "Budget Breaks" again... because I don't want to include brakes in my monthly budget... (ha ha)
