Very rude and unwilling to help!!!
by ejhaygood at Citysearch
For Christmas I had purchased a 1 hour massage gift card for my mother-in-law. In the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season I misplaced the gift card and just chalked it up to lost money. I recently found the gift card but noticed that it had expired. Being as how I never gave it as a gift I thought that I could call "A Touch of a Feather" and explain the situation to them and they could issue me another gift card (being as how they still had my money and I had not received a service). I called and explained the woman on the phone my situation. She than told me that I would have to pay an additional $45 if I wanted the gift-card re-issued, and that it was standard procedure that all salons have their gift cards expire. Now, this I know is NOT TRUE, I have purchased many gift cards for friends/ family for spas and NONE of them expired. When I explained this to her and that I would be taking my business elsewhere she responded with a very sarcastic "Good for you". I was so surprised by her absolute rudeness that I couldn't even respond. I understand that it was my fault that the gift card was misplaced, and I would even understand if they would not re-issue it, but I DO NOT believe that I deserved the treatment that I was given, it was uncalled for and I believe that the situation could have been handled a bit classier. I just wanted to share my experience so others could be aware.
- Cons: No customer service skills, rude, unwilling to help
