Nice Staff, VERY Unprofessional Team.
I use to go to this doctors office and I know all too well that most of these reviews are true. YES TRUE. The don't care and want your money. I would NOT recommend these people to anybody at all. And NEVER call them for any advice or help.... all you get is "lay down" "well maybe it could be this" "well blah blah blah" and it sure does not help you when your in pain or whatever.
So I changed doctors all together.
Disappointed Paintent. I and my wife have been coming to Stones River Med. for 15 years, when making an appointment on March 31 2011 I was told that I owed $ 12.00 and it needed to be paid before I could set up an appointment, when I called back to try and get someone else I was put on hold for a long time to where I felt it was done so I would hang up and call some one else,I like Dr. Mark but there seems to be some real issues in the office area, it is a shame that we will have to start going some where else because of a simple $ 12.00 dollar bill even though my insurance is billed alot of money every time,i am sure it is always enough to more than cover a $ 12.00 dollar bill, what happen to helping people
They are a rip-off. All they want is $$$. They want to run unnessary test just to charge your insurance. They do not listen to what you are telling them. I refussed to let them run a blood and urine test on me when I went in with a pulled muscle in my back. They got very short and hateful with me after I told them no. Everyone should take a good look at your bill and do not be surprised if you receive a bill from them a year and half later. I would not recommend them to anyone. I would not even take my dog to that place. I love my dog. I turly beleive that is why Dr. Turpin left.
Super Slow and Uncaring.
Went to the S. Church office 4 times on a work related injury. Had several parts of the body affected. They took x-rays, made another appointment, each time. Finally on the third visit, the doctor actually touched part of the body from one of the injuries. That should have been done on the first visit, if not all of them. On the fourth visit, I waited 1 hour in the waiting room, and another hour in the holding room. One person who came in after I did, left a half hour before I did, so she got seen before I did. No need making an appointment like I did, as they don't live up to it. I finally got so upset after 2 hours of not being seen, I left. I guess they didn't care, because they never called me to see what happened. I have only seen one doctor ever working, the 4 visits I made. Definitely, short handed, and poorly managed. I am very upset with the service I received and will never return.
NOW-I can't get $50.00 back, that I accidentally paid on a claim for this workman's comp. I have contacted the billing office, and TWICE, was told the money would be sent. After 6 weeks, I called and talked to a supervisor, and she said that it would be taken care of. NOW- 2 1/2 weeks later I still have not gotten my money. TODAY-10/3/2011, I called the billing office twice, and left messages to call me, never receiving a call back. The one time I went into the office and confronted the 2 billing clerks, who I had left 5 voice messages, and asked why I was never called back. The answer was, they were too busy. My next step will be to contact the Better Business Bureau.
Had his license suspended.
Dr Mark has had his license suspended and has been sanctioned by a panel of his peers in the past. You can look this information up yourself. He runs test you don't need and doesn't care about anything but money. Even other Doctors talk about how bad he is and call him an incompetent Doctor.
The first day I saw him he ordered a battery of test including an ultra sound of my ovaries. When I pointed out to the tech I had no ovaries she laughed and said well we have to pay for this machine and did the test anyway. Also Dr Mark commented to my husband and I about the bombing going on in Lebanon. He said I hope they kill them all. I said not the babies. He said even the babies, I am a Bronx Jew and I can say that. What Doctor wants people killed. I never went back. Yesterday my Mom told me that even though she hasn't seen Dr Mark or been to his office in three years she was able to get his office to refill one of her prescriptions. Why the heck he is still practicing is beyond me.
Excellent Doctor and Awesome Person!.
Dr. Mark, has not only been a wonderful doctor for me and my family, he has been far more than that. He has been a very good friend, counselor, motivator! He helped me thru one of the worst times in my life, when I lost my 13 year old son to cancer. He was not only there for me, but he was there for my older children. He has always been extremely thorough when taking care of us. I am very greatly for that. If I would have had a doctor like that before my son got sick, they might have been able to catch his cancer before it spread, which would have greatly improved his survival rate!
Two and a half months ago, I started on his weight loss program. I have not had the need to implement all of what he offers, but for what I have done, I have lost over 50 pounds!!!!! And have completely changed my lifestyle to make sure that I keep it off! Every week I go into his office, he makes sure that he recognizes my accomplishments, even though I am not seeing him! He might only give me a thumbs up across the waiting room, but that means alot! And I know that even though he has a huge patient load, he truly remembers each one of his patients! And there is nothing wrong, in him saying God loves you! I will never forget that I was rushed to mtmc on a saturday afternoon, he came in to the hospital from playing tennis, and took care of me! He is awesome, and worth the wait!!!!
Don't waste your $$$$. I am switching providers as of today. He's got a decent bedside manner once you get past the rediculous waiting time. He'll put every mechanical device known to man on you; order tests to drain your insurance, but won't even do the coomon "finger wag" to check your prostate. He's quick in and out, and on to the next patient without even giving you the common decency to afford time for you to ask questions. His staff is well trained in providing excuses, and they have a hatfull of them. My $$$ are better spent with someone who cares about ME, not money.
In my opinion.....Dr Mark is the best doctor ever!. I guess everyone has their opinion in what they are seeking in a practitioner. I personally had been to doctor after doctor after doctor. A friend suggested I see Dr Mark and I reluctantly agreed. I was so frustrated by previous attempts. Yes, the number of tests he ran at my first few visits seemed like quite a lot. I had been so used to being blown off that I was shocked at meeting someone who would not stop until he found out what was wrong with me. In my opinion Dr. Mark saved my life! Based on the tests he ran it was discovered that my gall bladder was not functioning. I was scheduled within a few days to have this removed. I selected the surgeon, who reviewed my test results, and agreed with the diagnosis. Since having the surgery I feel 100% better in that area. Also, I was suffering from horrible, crippling neck pain. Dr Mark referred me to a neurosurgeon in Nashville who is also highly spoken of. A real live neurosurgeon, not one of these pain management clinics that make an embarrassing fortune stringing people along, some of which are just there for narcotics and not an actual treatment! I am currently on the mend from neck surgery and am virtually (as I am still healing!) pain free! I feel better than I have in years! I would refer anyone, anytime, anywhere to see Dr Mark! His thoroughness is not to be taken lightly!. I take great comfort in knowing that he will research and do test to avoid a misdiagnosis! Dr. Mark - you are THE man!!!!!!
Dr. Josovitz Is A Wonderful Doctor. If it were not for Dr. Mark Josovitz, I would not have my husband with me today. No other doctor in Nashville or Murfreessboro could help with his diagnosis. Dr. Mark kept on until he found his problems -- either by researching himself or referring him to several very good specialists. We both are his patients and are glad that we have him because we'll not find another who'll be as caring and concerned about our medical issues.
Not interested in the root of the problem..
While the staff and the PA at Stone River Medical are generally friendly, I have my reservations about the job they're doing.
I've been in several times over the last few months.
I've been effectively dismissed several times. Once,, because the one test they can do regarding a problem I've been having doesn't show anything abnormal. Despite the fact that I'm still having pain.
I've been prescribed several medications, which had little to no affect with treating my illness.
I feel like I'm having more luck diagnosing myself rather than continually paying out a copay to have another useless prescription dropped in my lap (the PA is very good at whipping out prescriptions, I'll say that), another vague test run, and a general dismissal when it comes to the problem(s) I've come into the office to discuss.
I'll be finding a new doctor who will, I hope, actually listen to what is ailing me and work actively with me to find a solution.
ETA: I just got a call today from SRMG. They wanted me to come in for test results. These test results were in two months ago. I called two days after the test (24 hour bl00d pressure monitor) and asked for the results. They told me then (after some general confusion of not knowing what they were talking about) that everything was fine.
I specifically asked if I needed to come in. They said I didn't.
When I asked the nurse why she was calling me to come into the office two months after the fact she said "I don't know. I'm just doing what she told me."
My reflection is: they're trying to get a copay out of me.
If there was a problem with my results (which I've seen and which look fine--according to my research--though I will be taking them when I find a new doctor) then you need to tell me when I call for the results, not wait two months after the fact and then try to get more money out of me.
Do not use this medical office.
ETA - November 13 2010.
I just received a bill in the mail. Now, it's not for much, but it's dated from May of 2009. I haven't been into this office since then, for the reasons outline above.
So I'll be calling them Monday to find out three things - What the bill is pertaining to. Why it took them a year and a half to send the bill to me. If there are any other "outstanding" charges under my name that they would like to tell me about so a year from now I do not receive another surprise in the mail.
