ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!

The idea that the owners/promoters came up with for their Monday night special is different and original. Unfortunately it's been so successful that the owners have ignored some very vital details in operating/running a bar. First off, the place has absolutely no air circulation and the smoke is enough to choke you and make your eyes water...not to mention the temperature is well over 80 degrees. The lights are kept very low, which I can only assume it's to mask the fact that the floor is completely covered in liquids and broken glass. Watch your step or you will wind up face down in a cesspool of filth as I did, as the floor turns into an oil slick when wet. Tables are covered in beer bottles, empty glasses and cigarette butts. Saw one person attempting to clear tables while I was there, I put the empty glasses from my table in his bin, he quickly took them back out and set them on a stool...I don't get it?? Management really needs to address these issues as this bar is extremely dirty and unsafe.

The Five Spot is Five Star

I just recently moved to Nashville from Austin, TX, and The Five Spot is the most fun I've had since I've been here! It's a great spot to go for a really laid-back, young, eclectic vibe. It seems like such a friendly crowd- and not as sexually charged as most bars, which is a real plus. On Monday nights, they have a 50s-60s dance party called Keep On Movin', where they play everything from Michael Jackson to big band swing to The Beatles. But get in there early- two Mondays ago, they reached capacity at around midnight and couldn't take more people in!

Popular, and for good reason.

• Pros: Monday- half price drinks until midnight!
• Cons: It gets really smoky and painful on the eyes when it's packed out.

Fun Place

I am so happy with the growing selection of bars in the East Nashville Area. Slow Bar and 5 Spot are my new favorite places. Wonderful live music and cute bartenders make for a great bar!

• Pros: Lots of Parking, Vegetarian Sandwich, Betty Page Bartender
• Cons: Food Menu is limited, Kinda hard to find, Loud music
