The guy who answered the phone told me to stop trying to turn it on and to bring it in immediately, as the hard drive was most likely dead. When I took my computer in, they not only explained what the clicking noise was but also asked if I had a backup of my stuff, like pictures, documents. I explained I did not - they had me make a list of what was on my computer that I would want back, my photos, my emails and my quickbooks file. The next day I got a phone call saying that they had the new hard drive in my computer and they were able to get ALL my stuff back!! My emails, my pictures, my documents, my itunes, and my QuickBooks!! I would not hesitate to take my computer there again if I had any other issues.
Mislead me and charged me even though no work was done.....
I needed some pretty simple work done and asked for them to recommend any other services needed to my desktop. They told me that it would be no problem and that I could get it done in a day or two. 4 days after I dropped it off I called for a status and they had done nothing but open the hardware that I supplied. They mistakenly told me that I needed to take it back and get another, which I found out was not the case when I drove to their office location. Turns out that they did not take the time to review the hardware contents. They then had me go back to the retailer to research cables needed for them to complete the work. After I had called them with me research they said that they would investigate online and call me back. They were to check on the cable and check on upgrading my power supply (which I originally stated when I dropped it off and it was put on my order ticket). Over a day later I called to see what was going on since I never got my call back. I was put on hold for 10 minutes (I hung up). I preceded to call back and was put on hold again. When I finally got to speak to the technician he informed me that he found cable online and could get it. When I told him that I needed the power supply upgraded first, he said that he could not do it. So here is what I learned from working with GSG
1. They do not give an accurate time frame for completion of work
2. They were not thorough in their work
3. Made me do legwork and research for them
4. Did not return calls or status the job as promised. I had to call them to get any answers. Only at this time did it seem that they did anything on my job. No confidence that they performed any sort of work.
5. When I told them I would just pick up my computer (nothing had been done), they charged me $80 dollars for "work" they had done to that point. I had done most of the legwork and they actually looked online for a cable (big deal???).
They proved to be a waste of time and money!!!!
