BEST SUSHI IN TOWN!!. I love, love, LOVE Osaka's sushi!! It is the best I have ever had. It is a little bit pricy, but well worth it. Half of the times I go there the place is empty, but I don't care because I go to a resturant for good food...not to stare at other people eating in the resturant. The service is great and the food is even better.
owner is RUDE as he can be. would never go back that's all I have to say the owner is very rude with the employees and the customers and that's not what I look for when I go out for lunch or dinner
Bad service - triple charged.. Went for lunch with a friend, ordered a few items, and waited. And waited. Very slow service and the place was nearly empty. A few days later I checked my Visa statement online and they charged my card 3 times: $18.50 (original tab), $22.50 (What I wrote after tip), and $30.00 (?). I will admit the food was very good - but I won't be going back. Nashville has an abundance of good sushi places - I recommend Samurai on a budget or Ru San on a date.
Affordable, authentic cuisine for Japanese and sushi connoisseurs..
In Short
It didn't take long for this Asian hot spot near Vanderbilt University to develop a following among neighborhood business professionals, college students and faculty. The interior features rice paper and bamboo. The Vandy roll is a tempting blend of spicy chopped tuna and smelt roe coated in crunchy tempura and topped with salmon and avocado slices. Cooked-food fans will find much to love in a variety of bento boxes.
The worst service!. We went to Osaka last night for dinner and the service was by far the worst I have ever had in this city! The waiter was annoyed to have to deal with us, would walk away from us while we were in mid-sentence and plain ignored our requests for items. When an additional request for some rice was met with an arguement between the waiter and the sushi maker - the 3 of us were stunned to have to hear this happen right in front of us!!! There wasn't a living soul in the entire restaurant so he could not claim being overworked. The food was mediocre and did not justify putting up with such rude service. I can see why no one was in Osaka -unless, of course, you want to pay a lot of money for some mediocre sushi/teriyaki and be treated like a nuisuance. My suggestion to anyone thinking of going to this establishment is to drive a few minutes further down to Demonbruen and go to Sushiyobi. MUCH better food, better prices and no nasty waitstaff!
Best sushi in town and great Bento Boxes!. This is the only place in town that makes a truly amazing Volcano Roll, unlike any other place. Rich and to die for. I go there every single week! Soup is perfect, salad is about average, would be nice to have a mustard-based dressing as an option. Bento boxes are loaded up and very very good. For the money, it can't be beat.
One of the best in town. One of my favorite places for sushi. The bento box is also excellent. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere.
Courtesy and a Smile go a long way. I eat sushi several times a week. I love trying a new place now and then. I really found nothing major wrong with the sushi.. it was average. The price didn't equal the value however. The real issue I had was the way I was treated. I felt like no one wanted to serve me. I waited forever for the food to begin with.. then no one would refill my water.. My bill was served to me before I was finished ordering.. It appeared that if one of the employees were to crack a hint of a smile.. their face would crack. This was the coldest service I have ever experienced.
I'm done with this place. Osaka is close to my office so I frequently order takeout from here. The rolls are good, but the service is terrible. One occassion had me waiting 20-30 min for takeout (I got there after the 15min they told me it would take). To make matters worse, there was no one in the restaurant. Another time, I was forced to pay for something that I didn't order (their mistake) in order to get my order correctly placed. Given that I have been a loyal customer, you would think they would give me at least decent service.....not the case. From now on I will take my business to Taste of Tokyo or Samurai. Service this bad isn't worth the food.
going, going, gone!. I guarantee this place won't be here this time next year. The sushi chef was friendly, but he stared at us the entire time while we ate. I suppose he was bored, because we were the only two people in the place on a Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. The sushi rice and nori were average, but the fish, overall, was weak. Oh yea, it was expensive as hell too. We tried to branch out and try the place, but, of course, when you stray from the path, you pay the price. At Osaka the price was heavy.
