Editorial Review for Latitude – by Mindy Merrell

In Short
The smart, turquoise-and-cream checked, art-deco space located in the Marriott on West End offers casual elegance and a view overlooking the Parthenon. Fellow diners are well-dressed hotel guests and overflow from the P.F. Chang's next door to the hotel. Adept Vandy grads provide smart service. The chef has remarkable freedom, offering a creative Southern-influenced menu. Appetizers include dense, sweep crab cake and cornmeal-encrusted oysters. Daily specials feature pan-fried monkfish with sweet potato gnocchi.

Insider Tips

Parking

Where to Sit

The beautiful bar is fun for drinks and appetizers or dining alone.

We have eaten here several times and the food is extremely good. Service is a little slow, but when everything is cooked from scratch, I do not mind waiting. I had the macadamian nut encrusted grouper, which was excellent. They even substituted the rice for asparagus for me. Since it is a hotel, they automatically add 18% gratuity to the bill, but as long as you are aware of this it is no problem. Just look at the bill and it says it plainly that the gratuity has been added! We will be going back again. I can't recommend the Sunday brunch, it is just average, but all of the other meals we have eaten there were excellent.

Pros: The food! The view isn't bad either...

Cons: Sunday brunch

Total Ripoff-- They charged my card a double tip....yes for more than I signed for! The service was slow, food was bland. I'd rather eat at Mcdonalds where I will get better service. I should have taken notice with only two couples in the intire restaurant. Never again! One star--place stinks

Pros: Could'nt find any.

Cons: Service, food, integrity (charged my card after I left)
