What People Are Saying About Ted's Montana Grill

In Short – Lots of mahogany, tin ceilings, metal crown molding and Arts and Crafts-style décor prevail at this casual, comfortable saloon, part of media mogul Ted Turner's domain. Beef and bison are king, and they're hand-cut on site. Other bites include beer-can chicken, bison prime rib and cedar planked salmon. For dessert, there's home-made cookies, Kahlua fudge brownies, Coke floats and strawberry shortcake.
Great food and service

I've eaten at Ted's many times over the years since I've discovered it and never had a bad experience. The food is almost always cooked to order - mistakes can happen anywhere once in a while - and the service is excellent. Although if you go during the lunch rush, you may have a wait in line and then a long wait for the food, depending on what you order and how well done, but that's true at any great restaurant. Their rolls are great, but you have to ask for them as they don't bake many. Sometimes a server may forget something, but that's usually only during the lunch rush, etc. and, having been a server in another restaurant myself - although that was many years ago - I can understand that so no complaints here. Bison is not cheap anywhere, so don't expect them to give it away. If you're looking for a $1 maybe ground beef, maybe soy burger, your best bet is to go across the street from there to a certain fast food restaurant. Their bison is way better than what I've been served at a certain other chain restaurant with the initials RT. I especially like Ted's salads - expensive but way more than I can possibly eat so I get my money's worth. And my experience has always been unlimited refills on sodas and tea. The restaurant is great with the quotes on the walls, the music is fitting and the bison on the wall is something - kids can make you laugh with what they have to say about it.
When End of the Bison was I eating?

They serve bison at Ted?s and they?re really proud of it, too. They?d probably be prouder if somebody in the place would learn how to cook the stuff so it doesn?t taste like roadkill. Yeah, yeah, bison (buffalo) is supposed to be better for you than beef?and it probably is?but in order for it to be good for you, you?ve got to be able to choke it down and I couldn?t get that ?bison burger? past my lips. Oh, and if you order onion rings, better order again because I got 4 of them with my burger. 4 onion rings. No wonder I felt something stick me in the back when I got the $31.04 bill?

I've only been once and I'd likely recommend it based on my experience. The bison burger was great. The server was outstanding. Can't wait to go back.
