A product of the '70s, this reliable pizzeria projects an unflappable Deadhead psychedelics-'n'-health-food ethos. This amounts to lots of "shroom" references, "spring water dough" (enriched with vitamin E), plus tofu as a pizza topping and sprouts on all the hoagies. Specialties include the Gourmet White pie (sun-dried tomatoes, onions, feta and provolone cheeses) and the Mighty Meaty (hamburger, bacon, pepperoni, ham and sausage). Salads and sandwiches appeal to the frequenting college crowd.

i'm pretty shocked to not see any red flags on this site about the service in this place. i've been to mellow mushroom probably 10ish times and each time i've had the most wretchedly slow service. from the hosts seating you (count on at least 20-30 mins to get to your table), to the waiters who are, at best slow, and at worst completely incompetent. i mean, the food is good, which is why i go back, but it's not so phenomenal that you should put up with awful service. on more than one occasion, we've left before we were seated after waiting a whole lunch break. dinner isn't much faster, either. if you have a three-hour meal to burn, are especially baked, or want to hang out for a while after you eat, this place is fine.
Pros: food is good (subs are yum), pizza is good for nashville
Cons: parking if you dont have a vandy sticker...oh and heinous service

This pizza was fantastic! Huge toppings, fresh made crust...nuff said. But be prepared for a crowd at dinner.
Pros: Pizza, pizza, pizza
Cons: Parking (take advantage of valet)
