Amazing Store, even more amazing website!.
This place has it all. Everything that one would need to shop with comfort and knowledge. The staff are very helpful and the sheer volume of rare and unique antiques is staggering to say the least. The only thing equally impressive is the website. It has amazing color pictures and detailed information about each item. The online inventory is so large, it's almost overwhelming that the owner has taken so much time and effort to build this kind of store. Store is really a poor choice of words, most like a monument to antiques both small and large. You won't be disappointed at the store or the website. It's almost like the owner has a teleporter between her store and every other antiques shop in the UK combined.

Simply the Best for Antiques.
I have been shopping here since they opened their Belle Meade Galleria store. The merchandise is consistently the finest in Nashville for small antiques. The owner, Doris Matthews, really enjoys sharing her knowledge about each item. She works by appointment only now so CALL AHEAD. Yesterday, I found an unusual tea/coffee service in its own custom-made wood box - perfect for my son's wedding gift! There were so many one-of-a-kind items that it was hard to choose. Loving cups, marriage cups, candelabra, trays, tortoiseshell boxes were a just a few of the selections. I love this store!!!!

Local Antiques Store Featured in National Publications.
Our very own fantastic Nashville antiques store is featured in the Nov 06 issue of Martha Stewart Living in an article on Old Sheffield Plate. Many of the article photographs contain items taken from the cabinets at Chancery Lane Antiques. See the "credits" in the back of the magazine.
Last year, I found an article in Oct 05 issue of Traditional Home magazine that not only featured some items from the Nashville store but quoted the owner - Doris Matthews - as a specialist in Georgian "fused" plate.
Great selections thoroughly researched in a comprehensive in-store library.

Very Fine Store.
I have visited museums all my life. This place comes as close to a museum as I have seen in an antiques store. The owner, Doris Lebo, shares her knowledge of anitque silver, tortoiseshell and ivory with grace.

Best in the South!.
The previous review was right on target. Chancery Lane is one of those rare antique stores that will satisfy dealers, collectors, and casual shoppers alike. The only way to find a more vibrant, wide-ranging, and unique collection is to buy a ticket to a museum. Beautiful display cases and great lighting show off the remarkable quality of the pieces. (Hint: if you're looking for a simple gift, look in the chest of drawers immediately to the left after you enter the store - hundreds of spoons in all shapes and sizes!) Supposedly the store does a great deal of business online; we are lucky that Doris Lebo hasn't forgotten about us! All of the staff is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful and even the shortest visit to the store is a treat. I have never had any trouble parking, but the entrance to the undergound lot is easy to miss.

A world-class collection!.
Whether you are a dealer, a collector, or simply looking for a gift, Chancery Lane is far and away the best place in all of Nashville (dare I say the entire Southeast?) to find antique silver, jewelry, and British smalls. It was the first place my fiance and I registered with and we recently made a trip from Michigan just so we could see in person what we had been ogling online. You can get anything from a baby spoon on up to a beautiful Hester Bateman serving tray or even (if your pockets are deep enough) a Paul deLamerie sugar caster in perfect condition. The service is excellent (the owner is there seven days a week) and the store itself is beautiful - almost a museum. It is clear that Mrs. Lebo loves what she does.
