What People Are Saying About Baja Fresh Mexican Grill

In Short – High tables and a busy open kitchen welcome diners into the spacious, brightly lit black-and-white interior. Just minutes after cashiers take customer orders, fresh-made tacos, burritos and enchiladas (stuffed with steak, chicken or seafood) arrive on the nearby counter. The menu also offers several plates of greens, from typical taco salad to fancier bowls with shrimp or mahi mahi. A stainless-steel bar offers several salsas, plus jalapenos, limes and cilantro for seasoning.
Editor's Tips
- The Extras:
- For the health conscious, the restaurant's menu features low-carb plates like the Side-by-Side (charbroiled chicken served with a side salad with guacamole, pico de gallo, jack cheese and avocado slices), plus low-fat salads, tacos and enchiladas.
Stick with Baja Burrito
by moonbmz at Citysearch
I too was craving Baja Burrito on Thompson Lane last Sunday and decided to give Baja Fresh a try. The burrito I recieved didn't hold a candle to the burritos at Baja Burrito. The food lacked flavor, especially the salsa. The price tag was also a little higher. So if you're craving a great burrito, I strongly suggest Baja Burrito.
- Pros: good parking
suddenly disappointed

I have possibly been one of Baja Freshs most frequent customers since it opened. But today I arrived to find that prices had seriously risen. My chicken fajitas and small drink had gone up $1.20. Price increases often serve a purpose, but here, not much had changed except the shape of the plate. My friends explained that there were a couple (literally) of extra strips of chicken and an extra tortilla, but I was never able to finish the amount they previously served and neither was anyone else that I knew. While its tasty, Baja Fresh is, after all, fast food, and I cant rationalize paying over $10 for a meal where there is no table service and a side of anything means a trip back to the cash register. Ill be sadly eating elsewhere until Baja Fresh creates smaller sizes (for those who dont overeat) at reasonable prices.
Fresh and Fun Addiction

Baja Fresh makes life easy with phone-ahead and a killer veggie burrito.
- Pros: Vegitarian Delight, Chips Chips Chips, Phone Ahead Orders
Not So Fresh!
by rigdonk at Citysearch
I live close to the wonderful Baja Burrito on Thompson Lane. Last Sunday I got a jones for some fish tacos, but sadly my beloved Baja Burrito is closed on Sundays. I decided to give Baja Fresh a shot. I have one word...YUCK! The fish tacos were not good at all. Heck, I couldn't even taste the fish, just the "zesty" sauce and the corn tortillas. It really was a sad, sad day for Baja Fresh. If you can't do it well, folks, just don't do it.
The black beans and rice were good, but the salsa bar was below average and the chips were straight out of a bag. There is just no comparison here. Take your money and head over to Baja Burrito. You won't regret it!
- Pros: good atmosphere, good parking
- Cons: overrated food, skimpy portions
I AM ADDICTED

This was one of the first restaurants I found when I moved dowtown. I am absolutely addicted. The food is always fresh (as the name states,) the service is always fast and the portions are huge. I always leave satisfied.
- Pros: Inexpensive, Great Service, Made to Order
- Cons: Traffic on West End
