Yum. We stumbled upon this gem one night. It was wonderful. Warm, charming and great food. I had a huge salad with walnuts and warm goat cheese. I would highly recommend it for something a little different. We will go back again.
Lipscomb neighborhood cafe serves up deli fare and scrumptious home cooking with a smile..
The Scene
New owners have revived the former Green Hills Meat Market into a combination meat-and-three, deli and catering kitchen. The best thing about the little storefront across from David Lipscomb University is the employees' cheery attitudes; Their enthusiasm is catching. Less winning is the decor--the lattice and fake ivy need to go.
The Food
Get ready for decision anxiety at the ordering station. It's a tough call between salads, piled-high Boar's Head deli sandwiches or meat and three. Look for the innovative turkey and dressing wrap, a complete Sunday dinner in a sandwich. Country fried steak, mashed potatoes and green bean casserole are effective remedies for home cooking cravings. Skip the gluey mac and cheese. Many of the fried items, like catfish and okra, taste like they've spent too long on the steam table--they're seriously short on crunch.
great interesting dishes. this restaurant has amazing food in all kinds of varieties i'd never eaten before. it's one of my favorite places for lunch, and it's nice being so close to campus.
Must Try. Fabulous, friendly little cafe with good food and friendly service. This little place is much more than your typical meat and three. Great place for a quality lunch dine in or take out.
Unique Alternative to Sunday Brunch.
The small restaurant offers a cozy atmosphere and increadible food. The buffet style brunch includes everything from smoked salmon to country style biscuits and gravy.
Highly recommend it for a cold winter morning.
