I may not have a lot of experience or knowledge in gems or jewelry but I can tell you that creating an absolutely gorgeous engagement ring with Jay and Adriane is easily one of the best consumer experiences I have ever had. After leaving a contact email I was promptly called by Adriane to set up an appointment. We talked for around ten minutes and then she asked me to bring a few ideas and some pictures of my lady. During the appointment Jay and I talked about designs, my intent and budget amongst other things. Jay and Adriane helped me refine my ideas and set up a follow up appointment after he had some stones based on our ideas. At that meeting he showed me numerous options, highlighting pros and cons without pressuring me one way or the other. Adriane is particularly keen on pairing what shapes, designs and colors look best based on the pictures you provided. After stones were picked and an estimate was made CAD designs were sent to me showing me how the final ring would look and to make any last minute changes if needed (not necessary in my experience). After that it was a short three week wait and I was able to pick up an absolutely stunning sapphire engagement ring. Now I believe it is normal for friends and family to compliment an engagement ring but you know you have done well when complete strangers go out of their way to compliment your ring. That is the type of quality and professional service you get from J Yontef and I could not more highly recommend them to anyone who wants to make a truly special piece of jewelry for someone you truly care about.

When I began investigating ways to create an engagement ring for my fiancee, I did not think it would be as easy as it was. I had some family stones that I needed incorporated into the design, and most jewelers told me that they could take out a stone from a ring they already had and replace it with my family's stone. Well, I thought that was a rather round-about way to get things done. But that's not how Jay and Adriane operate.

From the moment I walked into their office, Jay and Adriane made me feel welcomed and comfortable. They helped show me that anything was possible with what I had available, both with my family's stones and my budget. We came up with several beautiful designs from which I was able to choose, and ultimately, we came in under budget. They were willing to work with me on my terms, educate me about the process, stone quality, etc., and serve as a sounding board when I wanted to talk things through. They took the time to meet with me on several occasions in order to get to know me and understand my relationship with my fiancee. I never once felt rushed or pressured into making a decision, and as a result, I think I came out of the process with the perfect ring. (My fiancee thinks so, too.)

Quite simply, we owe it all to Jay and Adriane. You guys are the best.

Jay and Adriane helped me design the perfect engagement ring. My fiancée’s perfect ring wasn’t something I could find in a store so I knew custom was the way to go. A lot of people will say their jeweler helped design the perfect ring, but I’m not sure many of them got that ring under the same circumstances I did.

Jay and Adriane helped me design the perfect engagement ring via Skype and email from half a world away. I saw photos of the main stone and some CAD drawings before the ring was made, but Jay and Adriane told me that I wouldn’t be able to get a true idea of how the final product would look from those things. I had to use my imagination and completely trust Jay and Adriane because the ring essentially existed only in our minds. Jay and Adriane could have a successful second career in mind reading because it turned out even better than I imagined.

I had planned to have Jay and Adriane ship the ring to me, but just before we were set to ship it I discovered that it was illegal to ship jewelry to the country where I currently live. I found some colleagues who were on vacation in the U.S. who were willing to bring the ring back for me. As luck would have it, Jay and Adriane were about to leave for vacation near where my colleagues were staying. Jay and Adriane hand delivered the ring to my colleagues who brought it back to me. So not only was my ring perfectly designed, sight unseen, it was also hand delivered halfway around the world. You don’t get that from just any jeweler. The ring is gorgeous, completely unique and my fiancée couldn’t be happier. Jay and Adriane had their work cut out for them with this ring, and they more than lived up to the excellent reviews I read about them.

The process of working with Jay was absolutely wonderful. I went around to all the antique ring shops in Nashville to try & find a specific style of engagement ring, with no luck. I brought ideas of what I wanted to Jay & before we talked about price or anything else, he sat me down & gave me a 1.5 hour lesson on diamonds - what to look for, what is important, how they're cut, etc. - and I left feeling like an expert. We then talked about what I wanted, what my budget was & the process of getting the custom ring began. 3 weeks later, my fiance (and anyone else who sees it) loves the ring. It's a truly unique, one of a kind piece. He was extremely transparent, honest & trustworthy, especially for a guy who has no clue about diamonds or jewelry. Highly recommended. Thanks Jay!

I came to see Jay after another well known jeweler in town really messed up my custom platinum ring. He took the time to listen and get every detail just right. Nashville is so lucky to have someone like Jay. Trust me, go to him first when you are shopping for a jewelry or a specialized custom piece. You won't be disappointed.

Jay & A are absolutely incredible to work with. I knew I wanted a custom ring for my girl. After 12 years together, those chain diamond stores just aren't enough. I read many reviews before going to meet with them & never visited another jeweler. They had me from "we'll make this perfect." I wanted to see a couple different stones we could use for the center & Jay called to let me know they were in. I'll never forget the conversation as he said, "one of them is perfect, you will choose the right stone." I said to him, "I'm sure it's the bigger & more expensive one." His reply, "actually, it's not." He could have easily tried to guide me into buying the bigger diamond, but he held true on his promise to make it perfect. I know where I will go in the future! I wanted a unique ring made for my soon to be fiance. Jay and Adrianne met with me several times to pick out a rare center stone and thoroughly discuss the details of the ring. The end result is a one of a kind, gorgeous ring. I couldn't be happier with their dedication in meeting my requests. Working with Jay and Adriane was an absolute delight - they are full of stories to share, and are perfectionists when it comes to creating your custom jewelry. My engagement ring AND ring-guard style wedding band came from them, and I could not be more pleased. Will be coming back to them for all custom jewelry needs in the future.

I took my time before deciding on a custom jeweler to make an engagement ring. The reviews about Jay and Adriane did not disappoint. Jay met with me several times to make sure I was satisfied with the center stone and design plan. He is exceptionally knowledgeable about his craft and takes great pride in his work. It is nice to work with someone that is just as excited about your dream design. Not only will he bring your dream design to fruition, he will make sure that the ring is built to last.
