My husband and I have had a horrible experience with the company. Being one of the only video stores in the Springfield area, we went there for the occasional movie/videogame. Last week my husband and I noticed that they had taken out $109. We called the store multiple times that week, asking to speak with the supervisor/manager. No one could help us. We finally got someone to schedule us a time when we could see the supervisor (which was a wk later!!!!).
After all that time waiting to finally see the manager we get there just to get to talk to someone who would not hear our side of the story. She was on the phone the whole time with corporate, talking over us. My husband had rented a videogame which he returned after being only 1 wk late. He dropped off the videogame after hours in their drop box. The manager said that they looked everywhere but the game was no where to be found. She stated that it was our word against theirs and that there has been multiple people go to court for these types of problems (HELLO, something must be wrong with this picture). She was very rude while telling us all of this. She basically told us that we could take them to court if we wanted to but we would lose even more money.
My husband and I were very frustrated. They could have sent us an email or mailed us a letter telling us of the videogame problem and we could have found a solution like even buying them another videogame to save us money in the long run. I even mentioned this with the manager and she scofted that it would have been better for us to do that. We have done the calculations with our bank to find out that Captain Video has taken out a total of $137 which is double the price of the game itself. We will know on Monday if the bank is going to make a claim against them since the video store took the money out of the bank without us knowing the reason why.
Needless to say, Captain Video has lost two customers due to rude customer service.
