I have been going to Dr.Sloan for a few years now and have not had the same experience with her as some of the other reviews.I have had alot of dental work and she has been nothing but kind,so I am not sure how some of the reviews state her as being rude and inhumane. She tells me when she starts to let her know when I feel anything and we will stop and will do whats needed to continue pain free.Which she has always done.I do agree that the office does get backed up regular and be prepared to stay longer than expected.I personally feel the only thing thats lacking in the office is the front desk help.I have had trouble getting them to file the needed material to my insurance after numerous attempts and a few other issues. The rest of the staff have been great.
Her chairside manner is that of a prison warden when she is rushed; Enter this practice at your own risk !!

Once I saw the latest review; I just had to post as my experience with Dr. Sloan was almost identical to the others. Her staff is courteous and friendly. I was there to finish a root canal, temporary crown placement & an extraction of a decayed wisdom tooth. It was obvious that she was overbooked (seems to be a recurring problem). The "real" Dr. Sloan exhibited her true colors when she began trying to extract the tooth. I was in severe pain. She gave me more injections. Still, this did little to help. I tried to explain to her that I was still in pain, to which she replied, "There's NO WAY that you could possibly be feeling this. I have shot you 5 times. " Then she tells me in no uncertain terms, "Now quit being such a baby & let me finish my job". Once she said this to me, I just sat there with tears rolling down my cheeks while she proceeded to inflict as much pain as possible, while pulling & wedging this tooth out. Now mind you, I am NOT faint of heart & have a pretty high pain tolerance, but when she finally managed to yank out the tooth; I swear at that moment, I thought I was going to pass out. Adding insult to injury; she had not bothered to properly place the temporary crown. As many of you know, when it sits wrong & the bite is off; it can really hurt. I'm hurting for several days thinking it is because of the trauma to my gums from the extraction, before I realized the problem was with the temp crown, I was truly afraid to go back for an adjustment. I did so however, but I never went back for the permanent one. I discussed my experience with several dental professionals & they all said that "NO Dentist should treat their patients in such a manner." If they could pull one's license for inhumane treatment of patients, in my humble opinion, hers would be the 1st to go. Perhaps her skills may be better suited for euthanizing stray animals at the local Human Society. Anyway, everyone has an opinion & this just happens to be mine.
- Pros: Gosh, there actually weren't any
- Cons: Everything; read the review
