Great Salon – Been going to Nicole for waxing and facials for over a year....she is the BEST. Just made my first hair appt there so I can't comment on the quality of that work, but I would expect it to be just as good. A few of these reviews mention the cost of the services being too high. Check around....you will find CG is less expensive than any other salon in the area (or other areas!)... except for those $10 haircut places - and is this really something you want to scrimp on? Like one of the other reviewers stated, if you find you always have to wait, talk to your stylist or Carol - they may not know there is an issue - give them the chance to correct the problem.
Won't Go Back – I had a trip to go out of town, the night before I called the salon to book an appointment for a brow wax with my regular lady I saw there who does an amazing job. However during my nearly 15/20 min call to book the appointment, the receptionist couldn't figure my name out no matter how many times I spelled it finally she told me I was booked. I show up and they don't even have me booked and the waxer was busy. Their excuse was it was a young lady who was just helping out at the front. Then they offered to send me to their other salon, way out of my way, or have someone tweez them. I told them no thanks and walked out and went some where else. It was a waste of my time.
A waste of time and precious money! – This was my second (and LAST) time here. The stylist (Emily), of whom I was assured by the receptionist had over "13 years experience," chattered non-stop the whole time she chopped away at my hair, doing exactly what I did NOT want. I asked her specifically not to cut the hair around my face or touch my still-growing out bangs, that I wanted a slightly layered bob-styled cut to be shorter in the back and angled down longer in the front. Well what I got looks like a first-week cosmetology student's attempt at cutting hair - it's awful! The front looks like it's hacked away in uneven chunks, it's SHORTER in the front, and longer in the back, the complete opposite of what I asked for! I have a wedding to attend in less than a week and am sick to death over this horrible haircut! I wish I'd have gone back to Studio Gaven, where it was worth spending the extra money on my hair.
Great product, iffy customer service – I've been coming to the Carol G Salon since I moved to Nashville 10 months ago. I have never left unhappy with my color or haircut, but it has been twice now that my stylist Amanda has just not showed up and I end up waiting over 45 minutes for someone to do my hair! I took off my morning from work to get my hair done yesterday and they informed me she was running late and that it would be at least 25 - 30 minutes before someone could start my hair. I made my appointment with that specific person 2 weeks in advance! I'm not sure if I will give the salon a break and blame it on the stylist being lazy or just try and find a new salon.
Save you time and money – I will sum it up quickly...save your time and your money! This is a salon the promotes wonderful services but has no business in the salon/spa business. The marketing is top notch but this salon can't back it up? I have been a customer for quiet some time and the services and people continue to go down hill. And I must stress attitudes of the staff. Who do they think they are? If a mistake is made or if they are unable to perform a service, they will be happy to fix/repair, and charge you twice as well ASK for a tip (yes ask, the last time I checked this was a courtesy). I felt as if they were having trouble paying the rent. I will not go to this salon again much less recommend.
waiting not worth it – I have been to Carol G's three times in the past six months for a hair cut. I have gone to the shop in Cool Springs. Every time I have to wait a minimum of thirty minutes. One time I waited 45 minutes before I was shampooed and then had to wait 10 more minutes for the stylist. And that is with an appointment. The hair cut is always great, but the wait is just not worth it. I will not go back.
