Best bartender I have ever seen.. My wife and I went to Nashville on vacation and went to Bailey's for a drink at 5:00PM. The place was packed and the bartender named Gwen handled both a packed bar and all the waitresses by herself. She was a show in itself climbing to top shelves to reach a bottle of vodka filling draft beer glasses 3 and four at a time and making mixed drinks. She was quick and courteous and was not at all overwhelmed serving a couple hundred customers herself. Well worth going to watch her.

Great food and atmosphere!. I have lived in downtown Nashville for about 1 1/2 yrs. and Baileys has been my favorite bar/restaurant to visit. It's great for locals and tourists. The food is awesome and much better than what you would typically consider "bar food". They serve a variety from burgers to Mahi Mahi and more dinner type choices. The salads are excellent! It's clean and the staff is friendly. It's a relaxing atmosphere to just stop in to have a drink at the bar or socialize. It's a great location to catch a game on big screens. For some of the die-hard sports fans the bathrooms even keep you up with scores and play by play details!!! There are several regulars including myself. It's definately my Nashville "Cheers" where the bartenders know what you drink when you sit down if you're a frequent visitor and there are always familiar faces. I can't imagine anyone giving them a bad review. Try it for yourself! You'll love it.

Terribly rude servers. With so many other choices on Broadway, I will never go back to Bailey's again. Our server took our order and then disappeared for 30 minutes. I went to the bartender to ask about the food. He looked up the order on the computer and rudely told me that the order had only been placed 15 minutes earlier and that I should not even be expecting it yet. Apparently, the first 15 minutes were all my imagination.

Anyway, during this 1/2 hour period, we had to flag down another server to refill our soft drinks. She actually raised her voice to us and said that they were shorthanded and that we would just have to wait. I felt as though I was on candid camera. Being shorthanded is understandable, but what a lousy attitude about it! Once our food FINALLY arrived, we had to get up again to get our own silverware. Our server never offered any apology or explanation for any of this, which leads me to believe that this is the norm for them. I will NOT be back.

Give us another dive bar.... Someone should really just take this place out and put in another divey honkytonk. At least there'd be no illusions. This used to be a place I loved to go for soup and a salad on rainy days, but I swear I'll never go again. Staff here is either decent or a BIG miss- if you could get any dirtier looks from one bartender it might be almost kitschy, but in my opinion he just has no business in food service. The food here is inconsitant- sometimes the token Newcastle Cheese Soup is thick and creamy, other times you can stand a spoon straight up in a lumpy mess.

Now I'm not obsessive compulsive or anything, but none of the servers here wash their hands. There isn't even a sink visible, however a giant tub of 'antibacterial hand gel' is sitting right on the bar- next to where they're mixing drinks!?!?! I only noticed this the last time I went (and I mean the LAST time)- because it seemed everyone in the place was coughing and sneezing. I was utterly grossed out.

Finally, the cheeseball top 40 music is BLASTING throughout the place, and forget about asking anyone to change the channel- even if it is the same game on all 5 tv screens. Pool here is hourly, and will run up a tab at the end of the night you might have to morgage your house to pay. I'd go anywhere on Lower Broadway but here...

Not Recommended at all. just read the the comments of collegeangel below and you will see that other had the exact same experience as I did...

I am a person that doesn't really let the service destroy my night, but Baileys service was sub par!

If you have ever been to a bar with bad service, food, and management Im sure that Baileys will rank in the bars that you will never visit again.

Rude/No Service and Crappy Atmosphere. If you want to have a good time in Nashville, do yourself a favor and visit any bar other than Bailey's. We were down for the Music City Bowl and the waiter was completely rude and did not want to serve us and actually told us we could not sit in his section when we placed our first drink order at the bar. He then refused to get the manager when we asked for him. Once the manager was found, he offered free appetizers and a free first round of beers for the following day. We didn't come to Nashville to find freebies - we came to enjoy an evening out, the night before a bowl game. We were able to do this across the street at Rippey's!!!

good service & good food!. When I go downtown I always go to Bailey's and have a good time. The review before this said that she would not recommended Bailey's I feel sorry that she feels she had bad service but get a clue. People are not perfect you should know that b/c your friends problem. Anyways I would highly recommended this place as a fun SPORTS BAR!!

Bad Service... Below Average Food. We visited Bailey's on a Friday night... one of the people in our party uses a wheelchair and the hostess seemed at a complete loss in regards to seating us in an area that would be accessible. We finally just picked one of the few accessilbe tables, despite her mumbling something about the server not being pleased. The server was absolutely inept and inattentive. He got our first round of drinks correctly, but all went downhill from there. I ordered a patty melt and fries and asked that they hold the pickles... my sandwich was served with a huge pile of pickles on top of the bread... I asked for ketchup when our meals were served but after more than 5 minutes had to go get it myself, I asked for a Corona Light but was served a Corona Extra. People in our party drinking soft drinks never received any refills. The place was NOT busy and we observed the server just lounging around doing nothing rather than seeing to our needs. The burgers were dry and there were pieces of paper on the cheese... YUCK... Although there was a manager lurking about, he never inquired about our satisfaction nor did the hostess ask about our dining experience when we were leaving. Even though we live just a couple of blocks away, we will NOT be going back to Bailey's and strongly urge others to stay away from this place!

This bustling downtown bar is home to sports fans and pool players.. In Short
A lively hangout for Nashville's downtown crowd, Bailey's hosts a young, relaxed and friendly scene. The classic cracking sounds of billiards balls and the roar of raucous sports fans high-fiving while watching the game on big-screen TVs is typical for this joint. On a fair-weather evening, the spacious open-air deck upstairs makes for prime people-watching while drinking brews. The menu offers typical pub grub like sandwiches and steaks.

girl friendly sports bar. I am a Nashville native and have been a downtoen groupie for several years. I have been to Bailey's several times in the past and had mediocre experiences there. Recently some frirnds and I (mostly female) decided to start out night there. our server was very friendly and made sure we were well taken care of. we were seated upstairs and despite a lrge group and several finicky eaters our food was delicious and every order was correct! we had such a great time we ended our date there as well. Since my last visit i am definitly going to be showing my face around there more often. It seems the perfect place to have some afer work cocktails with my girls or share some fries and draft beer with that special sports freak in your life!
