A Lovely Dining Experience Feb 2011. The food, atmosphere, service were all absolutely off the charts. We could not have asked for a better dining experience to celebrate our wedding anniversary and most recently a birthday. Adriane was our server and she was charming. The filet mignon was the best we have ever had and I guarantee you won't mind eating your vegetables. We will return many times.…
Contract? What good is a contract?.
My fiance and I recently met with Carlin McQuiddy, Banquet and Wedding Events Coordinator, to discuss having our wedding reception at Mere Bulles. I must say we were very impressed with the
professionalism and knowledge of wedding coordination that Mrs. McQuiddy exuded. It didn't take long during our tour of the restaurant that we decided that Mere Bulles was the place for us. After the tour, we sat down and agreed upon a minimum dollar amount ($8,000) that we would spend with them. Normally, the minimum to have a reception at Mere Bulles is $10,000. Before we could get home, my Blackberry went off with an email from Mrs. McQuiddy with the dated, signed contract attached agreeing on a date and the $8,000 amount. Here's where it all goes south...
The following Wednesday, my fiance received a call from Mrs. McQuiddy stating that we cannot have our reception on the agreed upon date (12/10/11) due to the owner being a 'small business owner' and he has to look out for his employees. In the words of the owner: "I can make 3 times what you are spending" and that the contracted minimum is no longer valid. The question I have is: WHAT GOOD IS A CONTRACT? We still have a copy saved on our laptop, but what good is it? We now know what kind of people are running the show and will never step foot in that place again. To be honest, we've already taken a tour of Lillie Belles in Franklin, and are quite satisfied with what we were presented.…
Wickedly Bad Service. Why bother with reservations? Father's Day with pregnant and handicapped family members and we had 30 extra minutes in sweltering heat. The management could only manage,"Well, what did you expect on a holiday." Really? Those without reservations were getting seated faster. Nary a "We are sorry". Well, for such sorry service, we will also be voting with our checkbook as well as this review. We have been coming there on Father's Day for 4 years and that was our last.…
Pricey for average food. I would give three stars because the food was average, BUT because of the price it goes to below average. While I didn't pay for my food (I was at a work function) I could still see the price for what I would have had to pay for soup, salad and a club sandwhich and it was pretty ridiculous. Especially because it was only so-so. I've had better Chicken Tortilla soup at Sub Stop, and the Ceasar salad and club sandwhich were really on par with O'Charleys. The building is really pretty, there's ample parking and the wait staff is really nice, so that's good. But the price for the taste of the food just isn't worth it. You can find better expensive restaurants or get the same taste for a lot cheaper.…
Great reception for our daughter's wedding!.
On May 23, we had a reception for 30+ people (family and bridal party) for our daughter's wedding. None of us lives in the Nashville area, so, other than a visit to Mere Bulles a few weeks earlier
and some reviews, we had no knowledge of the restaurant. What sold us on the restaurant for our event was Bonnie, the catering coordinator, and her easy style and willingness to accommodate our requests.
Our food from the catering menu was delicious, as voiced by everyone there. The service was outstanding. Bonnie made the room arrangement as we needed and let us bring in flowers and chair covers to get the room just right. The owner even helped arrange the food on the buffet tables as everything was being set up. The waiters were responsive throughout the reception.
Our group consisted of family from South Carolina, east Tennessee, Alabama, Vermont, and Alaska; and attendants from Arizona, New Jersey, and Kentucky. All loved the setting, the food, and the overall experience.
Thank you Bonnie and Mere Bulles! You will live on in our family through the photos of the event.…
