In Short
Maryland Farms no longer breeds horses--only hearty Brentwood appetites. The original plantation house, buried among brick boxes in its namesake office park, is a bustling corporate operation. Diners include the area's enormous pool of professionals, special-occasion groups, couples and families. The game plan here is to serve decent, high-end food to a crowd expecting no surprises. Best bets are the restaurant's simple steaks, juicy prime rib, rolls and daily blue-plate lunch specials.

I would give three stars because the food was average, BUT because of the price it goes to below average. While I didn't pay for my food (I was at a work function) I could still see the price for what I would have had to pay for soup, salad and a club sandwhich and it was pretty ridiculous. Especially because it was only so-so. I've had better Chicken Tortilla soup at Sub Stop, and the Ceasar salad and club sandwhich were really on par with O'Charleys. The building is really pretty, there's ample parking and the wait staff is really nice, so that's good. But the price for the taste of the food just isn't worth it. You can find better expensive restaurants or get the same taste for a lot cheaper.

On May 23, we had a reception for 30+ people (family and bridal party) for our daughter's wedding. None of us lives in the Nashville area, so, other than a visit to Mere Bulles a few weeks earlier and some reviews, we had no knowledge of the restaurant. What sold us on the restaurant for our event was Bonnie, the catering coordinator, and her easy style and willingness to accommodate our requests. Our food from the catering menu was delicious, as voiced by everyone there. The service was outstanding. Bonnie made the room arrangement as we needed and let us bring in flowers and chair covers to get the room just right. The owner even helped arrange the food on the buffet tables as everything was being set up. The waiters were responsive throughout the reception. Our group consisted of family from South Carolina, east Tennessee, Alabama, Vermont, and Alaska; and attendants from Arizona, New Jersey, and Kentucky. All loved the setting, the food, and the overall experience. Thank you Bonnie and Mere Bulles! You will live on in our family through the photos of the event.

Wish I could write a review that the food was wonderful but the truth is the food is pretty good but should be great for the prices they charge and the beautiful location they have. They need to update their menu to add more seafood dishes. Good wine selection and reasonable prices on the drinks.
