In Short – Located along the touristy strip across from the Opryland Hotel, this dusty emporium exists on the souvenir dollars of curious passers-by and the occasion al die-hard fan. The museum itself is a self-guided tour through random displays of memorabilia and photographs, including items from Patsy Cline, Audie Murphy and even the King himself. The gift shop contains the usual Nashville knick-knacks along with a few original items: Look for Willie's trademark bandanna with fake braids.

Nelson and Friend's Museum a real pleasure and then some...

by Talent4U2 at Citysearch

By far the niceest put together museum for an artist like this I've ever seen. Willie even put his personal touch into this one with his good friend famed harpist Lloyd Lindroth of The Opryland Hotel's entertainment top attraction that Nashville has ever seen in its history. The harpist packs them in with cars on each side of the freeway each nigh to see him perform. Willie Nelson and Friend's is the perfect title for the museum since Willie has included those whom he personally has met and whom he admires. From the moment one enters its doors it is adorned with artifacts from the famous stars connected in one way or another to Willie's life and times. Here we have, in Willie, an artist and a real down to earth person that is connected to the real people of America in a very special way from his Farm Aid to his tremendous hits that relate to us all. On leaving this journey through this museum one is fully convinced thata they have just enjoyed not only a museum but a personal trip down memory lane and more than worth your moneys worth. I felt like I should have paid four times what I paid for admission and prceeded to purchase Willie Nelson memorabilia and that was a true joy. The lady behind the counter whose name was Jeannie was a true delight and knew all about Willie and filled us all in on so many things we wanted to know about. She should have her name up on the marquee. If you are thinking of going to Nashville be sure to stop by and see this museum. It is truly worth every penny and then some. Five stars for this one.

  • Pros: Everything is super
  • Cons: no problems
