Southwestern decor meets art deco in this trendy Mexican restaurant near the upscale Lockland Springs in east Nashville. Bursting with rose, tangerine and purple colors, the interior sports a high, unfinished ceiling, cozy booths and a curvy bar lined with casual drinkers. The menu features contemporary cuisine with mesquite grilling and lime veggies. The burritos are thick, huge and smothered in a salsa verde or a spicier chili and served with ample sides of cool, garlicky guacamole and sour cream.

I don't even like Mexican food that much and I like this place. I could care less about trends or atmosphere. It's just good food. And we've always had good service. The only drawback is that it's so popular and hard to get in on a weekend night. And I love all the salsas and chips they give you.

This East Nashville restaurant is a real find. The food is always spicy and always good. Any dish with their green chile pork is a winner. And to top it all off, they urge patrons to refrain from cell phone using in the dining area, making for a much more pleasurable dining experience. The only draw back is the hipster snob attitude of the young and pretty staff. It can be hard to get their attention as they are always busy blathering to each other about the newest Arcade Fire album or primping in the mirror trying to look as if they just rolled out of bed.
