So I wanted to write a review for a single employee, not the entire dealership. Josh Moose, the one who showed my mother and I cars all day long was absolutely amazing. He was incomparable to others from Waltrip or any other dealership. His knowledge and expertise was just mind-blowing. He taught my mother and I so much about 2013 cars in general, and helped us make an informed decision. I am so appreciative and grateful for meeting and learning from him! He is truly an excellent employee that the Waltrip - or ANY - dealership should be grateful to have.
Here is a TRUE situation that happened to me yesterday getting my 2012 Crosstour serviced for the first time at Waltrip Honda.
Took car in for first oil change and tire rotation....Simple enough....here is something that drew my attention, back in July when I purchased the car...both valve stem caps were missing on my two rear tires..no big deal I left them off till I took the car in for first service...not thinking anything about it I left the dealership and went across the street to get something to eat....was gone about 15min. I returned to the dealership and to my surprise my car was ready...it struck my kinda odd that they were finished already since this service department was busy on a Friday afternoon (1:00pm).
When I approached my car I noticed that both valve stem caps were still missing on the rear tires of the car and that it did not look like the tires had been touched. I proceed to go inside to pay for my service (oil change and tire rotation) and ask the service adviser if the tires had been rotated and I was assured that they had I make the statement to the adviser that both stem caps were missing on the back tires and they were still missing. (I knew they had not rotated the tires and were about to charge me for the service that was NOT preformed on my car) when I brought this to the advisers attention he looked at me like I was crazy and picked up the phone and called back to the service area and spoke with the tech that was to do my service. The tech assured the adviser that he had rotated the tires and when he was informed of my knowledge that the tires had not been rotated the story changed to "I must have forgot". How it the hell are you going to "forgot" to do your job and still charge a customer for it....
Of course this only puts up HUGE red flags for me and having Waltrip service my car.
My advise to anyone is mark your tires for a rotation and make sure you get what you are paying for....bottom line is I don't mind paying for a service However, I do require to get what I pay for.
The end result was that they returned the car to the service area and rotated the tires and did not charge me for the service as a good will jester...for that I am thankful. I have owned 3 Honda's and really respect this service department will return in the future However, I will check behind them.
Not honest; Worst experience at a car dealership – I had a similar experience here. These guys tried to pull a not so fast "fast one" on me. After informing them of the car I wanted and the price I wanted to pay they assured me that would work. So we moved on to trade value. THREE hours into the entire process, they were trying to get me to sign papers WITHOUT a concrete trade value named or price on the car (this is with me asking them THREE different times). They told me we would go over those in the financing office. Red flags all over the place, but I played along trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. After entering the financing office the finance administrator says "congratulations" I said "whoa, I have not agreed to buy anything, I haven't even been given numbers". That's when he acts surprised and gets the numbers for me. The numbers end up being fofor a car with extras I didn't want at FULL MSRP, plus the price they were giving me for trade was nearly $1,200 lower than the actual conservative trade in value (did my homework and tried to let them know that). Needless to say it was shady all aroiund - not sure if they saw a girl and just thought easy bait or what. I walked aut without a car and would never go back to this place.
Poor Service. Liars. Make a deal and then change the deal after 3 hours of negotiating. Low ball the trade. – I would highly recommend NOT purchasing a car from this dealer. They were not honest and were not at all trying to make you the best deal. I worked on a deal for over 3 hours, walked away and then had the sales person call me back to say we had made a deal based upon specific criteria I had set forth. They had me come back in the following day to wait again for an hour for the financial manager to show up to then make a different deal and were not honest enough to honor the deal made originally. They low-balled my trade, initally offering over $3000 less than the quoted Kelly Blue Book trade-in value for a car of lesser caliber than mine. Buyer beware. They also made me feel like my business was not worthwhile, when in fact I was treated MUCH nicer and given a great deal 1 1/2 years earlier up the street at Gary Force Acura, who I would HIHGLY recommend.
