Great Help
by LCGrainger
I had surgery last week and had a friend come by who accidentally let my dog out. I was in huge cast and the technician at my house from Hiller went out to look for my dog. He found my dog and brought him back home to me. It was so nice of him to do that for me and to help out like he did.

Always get three bids

I needed a 14 ft pipe moved under my deck. It currently feeds my BBQ grill. Holes are pre drilled through the foundation. I priced the materials at 65.00 to do it myself. Hiller bid to move / replace this pipe is 704.00. I also had to pay them 49.00 to give me an exorbitant bid.
I called and talked the management. I told them that I had this pipe run originally in 2001. It cost me 125.00. I told Hiller that I understand that prices have increased over the years and I was willing to pay $250 to $300.
Hiller plumbing said that was an average and they would work backwards from that standpoint.
This is how I see it.
Materials = 65.00 to 100.00
Labor = 604 to 639
Labor rate = 3 hrs =201.00 to 213.00 per hour.
As you can see these rates are outrageous. I will give credit to Hiller because they called and they are returning my initial fee.
This is a warning to all consumers. Get three opinions. I have received my third bid and the work will be done for $300.00.
- Pros: Polite, Friendly
