Numerous neon beer signs point the way to this sports-barbecue joint located 20 paces from the main entrance to Gaylord Arena. Although often given a bad rap as a tourist trap, Rippy's works a formula--decent food, cold beer and colorful live music--that's as old as Nashville itself. The menu is a bit pricey for the portions, but staples like baby back ribs and pulled pork make a fine pregame feast.

Rippy's was GREAT! We recently went to Nashville for a fun vacation and had such a great experience here. Our server, Elliot, was the best as well as some of the other staff members (Jamie and Daniel). The manager made us feel right at home (Kenneth) and we will be sure to go back there the next time we are in Nashville. I felt like I was in a bar "where everyone knew your name."

I just wanted to say that this is the only bar downtown where we get good service!!! We have tried almost everywhere down there and can't seem to get a drink if we don't know the bartender. I just wanted to say Kudos on the friendly staff they have at Rippy's! I've seen a lot of reviews that say otherwise, but I have never had a problem with anyone or the service I've received! If anyone gets bad service in this bar, it's probably because they are unbearable, rude customers!
Pros: Great staff, awesome patio
Cons: a little crowded sometimes
