Editorial Review for Martha's at the Plantation – by Citysearch Editors
In Short
The quiet, less-is-more dining room is the perfect backdrop for the colorful, stylish food. Stamps does Southern tearoom fare with a twist, changing the menu seasonally. Popular spring and summer dishes include the chicken and tuna salads, and a fun variation of "pamina" cheese with olives. Those with heartier appetites go for the perfectly fried catfish sandwich and regional specialties like chicken croquettes and crawfish cakes.

Good food... decent service... will definitely keep going back. My favorite dessert is the chocolate fudge pie.
Pros: plantation grounds, desserts
Cons: usually need reservations

My cousin actually owns this restaurant. Martha let my friend and I do an internship for our school at her restaurant a couple years ago. We got to work on the floor, and in the kitchen. Martha actually helps make most of the food and the staff is almost like a family there. She never heats up frozen food to serve to her guest. She and her staff make everything from scratch, very carefully. The fudge pie is to die for and if you have picky children (like I was) that chicken fingers are AMAZING!
Pros: fresh food, many healthy menu choices, amazing staff, hard work is put into the meals.
Cons: none
