In Short
Located in the Sylvan Park neighborhood, this comfortable, quirky cafe is located among old brick bungalow homes. Chef Willie Thomas fuses a number of international cuisines. Start your journey in Asia with the lettuce-cup appetizer, cross over to Louisiana for a crawfish tail salad and end up in France with the popular peppered beef tenderloin with a classic bearnaise and pommes frites. The chef's signature creme brulee Napoleon is a winner.

Park Cafe is my favorite spot in town for everything from going on a fancy date night to sitting down for a glass of wine at the bar. I've found myself there for so many special occasions over the last year, that I don't really think of celebrating anywhere else anymore. I was there for New Years and shared a complementary glass of champagne at the bar with the rest of the patrons. I went there with my family of 10 for a graduation celebration. I also attended the Nashville Cares benefit, Dine-Out-for-Life, with my boss and co-workers. The menu is always changing, because the chef is constantly making additions and trying out new delicious plates. There is also a bar menu if you just want to get a drink and a plate of the best macaroni and cheese in town! The sommelier has wonderful taste. She is also the manager, and her love of food and wine shows in the care she shows for her customers and the quality of the product she delivers. Props to you! I'll be coming in to see you time and time again.!

I have been going to Park Cafe for many years, and I have never been disappointed. I must admit to a small amount of trepidation upon finding out that they had a new chef... I needn't have been concerned. Not only was I impressed with the new menu additions & wine selections, I was impressed with the chef himself. There's something about having the chef take time out to visit your table and inquire about your meal, that makes the food taste even better. Great food AND fantastic service- who knew? It's a lost art in many restaurants, but not, it seems, at the Park Cafe. The staff is wonderful, and the food is even better now than it has ever been. I am intrigued by the new chef's ingenuity and his care & attention to detail. He's not afraid to experiment, and yet he maintains the Park Cafe's menu favorites. A perfect combination!

Last night was my first time eating at Park Cafe. I immediately appreciated the restaurants popularity because of the busy waiting area and bar. The restaurant is in a house and this causes it to feel cozy. The lighting is darker than most restaurants and helped create a romantic atmosphere. The hostess was extremely friendly and sincere. The waitor promptly asked what we wanted to drink, and then told us the nights specials. The waitor service could not have been better (which is why he received a 25% tip). The waitor ensured we had what we wanted and kept the drinks full, but he did not get bothersome as they do at some restaurants. The food was simply delicious, and presented beautifully. The mongolian beef was extremely well seasoned and just the right size portion for an appetizer. The shrimp and risotto entree is a great choice and again, the right size (not enough for three people like entree's are at some restaurants). My date and I split an order of the famous Green Chile Macaroni and Cheese, best mac-n-cheese ever. If you want a pre-dinner drink, try the Tennessee Twister/Tea, it is great. Overall, this restaurant is an excellent choice for a special occasion or a romantic date. The table we had was in a small room at the front of the restaurant. There were only 2 tables in the room and this made the dinner special and private. I will eat at the Park Cafe again, and again.
